Ok, so the cage we built for Rain was perfect sized for her.. pretty much anywhere she went in it she could stand straight up… welllll now that Abbie is here, shes like twice the height of Rain and can only stand straight up in 25% of the cage… on the second level and on the first. what do you all do to accomidate your taller rabbits? I cant raise the levels up much more or Rain wont make the jump and the ramps take up SO MUCH SPACE!! Abbie has not needed to use ramps as shes very graceful and good at keeping her ears out of the way… so suggestions as to what we should do?

Can you add an xpen to the cage so the “model” has more room?  I forget your situation, if you have dogs or not.

no dogs here but we really dont have the space in our condo for an xpen… i could redo the cage we have, perhaps have two levels instead of three but it would be taking away floor space… i could add another floor but holy moly it would be HUGE! this cage is already 4ft tall. They do have several hours of free time so us redoing her cage might not be all that nessesary, i was just curious what most people do… i love to spoil my buns

I understand your small area but is there any way to have larger floor space for them rather than a high rise?  Ideally your bun should be able to stand without any problem in the cage.  And the big girl really needs room to stretch out. Will they ever be frree roam or at least let out to really run for a few hours a day? It’s surprising what you can figure out.  At first I couldn’t stand how much space Edson’s cage and xpen took up in my office but it’s really ok and now I have begun to take away the xpen completely so I feel more spacious now.

she can stand and does in her cage.. has no problems doing her little bun’ periscopes, she just cant do them everywhere in the cage like Rain. She has “Free time” for 5+ hours a day, more on the weekends so yes, she has a TON of playtime outside her cage. They cant be free range while im at work because i just dont want them running around getting into trouble during the day and me not here in case they get hurt. Lord knows I almost had a heart attack watching Abbie fall off the kitchen table. Bottom line is i like to spoil my rabbits to the core lol.
