Well I’ve finally caught a picture of Dylan showing his spikey neck hair.  I got him from a rescue place and I’m told he was born there.  But I wondered if his parents had once been wild rabbits because he looks just like the rabbits that visit our garden.  It’s the fluffy hair on his neck that makes me second guess though.  Any ideas what he might be?

He’s very handsome! I now nothing about types of rabbits, I just know cute when I see it.

What kind of enclosure is that you have him in?

Wow, I agree…very handsome! He does look sort of wild…maybe a touch of lion head. How big and how old is he. My Shadow molts through a range of greys and brown undercoat so at times he looks like a wild bun.

When I read this, at first glance, I thought ‘Agouti’. Then I did a double-take and was like, ‘Whut? Mustache?!’

xD Translation; I don’t know either!

He has all the typical agouti markings, but…the mustache, I’ve never seen on an agouti colour. And this is just my guess, but I think he might have a little more growing to do -because that is a BIG head.

PS. Binkles always had really soft, downly caramel-coloured fluff on back of her neck as well. She was just a normal Netherland dwarf.

What type is Dylan?  A cutie pie handsome guy!  I have no clue but he looks like he stepped right out a Beatrix Potter book!

Trouble with buns is how quickly they breed and how quickly their ‘breed’ becomes mixed. If you are hung up on something though, the closest I think he comes to is a Champagne D’ Argent (they have the classic Moustache and ear tip colorizations), with some Mini Rex in him and with Agouti coloring.

Thanks for the suggestions. I’m just curious really. Dylan is ten months old and I suppose in real life he looks a little browner than in the photo. That was him sitting in the corner of his outside run, he lives indoors though.

Agouti-or ‘wild type’ is the coloring…and that spikey hair makes me think he has some lionhead in him

=/ Well it’s…kind of agouti, but kind of not though…it is an interesting mix for sure!
