for those people who haven’t got fed up with all my worrys and questions, My rabbit Willow is coming in today and we she have our first “bonding” session hopefully. I will get some treat ready and we will start at 10:00 pacifictime. (if anybody want to see pictures I can get some). Oh and should I start litter training right away or wait awhile?

oh good! start littertraining immediately. put a litterbox with litter in her cage, and put NO BEDDING or LITTER anywhere else. when she poops outside the box (which she will at first), scoop them up and put them in the box. soak up pee with a paper towel and put that in the litterbox. put a pile of hay in one half of the litterbox and that should encourage her to sit in there and munch/go potty at the same time.

most importantly, be patient. she may not be completely trained until after she is spayed, even then it is not always 100%. i call littertraining a “success” if ALL the pee is in the box and MOST of the poops.

You should put her into her enclosure. Keeping her in a box will just cause her to become a bit more aggitated. If you’re afraid of picking her up and putting her into the enclosure/cage, just open the box in front of the opening to the cage and she’ll hop in on her own.

Her inclosure to small (it was a temperary one) so she is roaming free in my room.

it’s not a good idea to allow your bunny to roam a room without it being thoroughly bunny-poofed. is there any way she can go in a bathroom, a mudroom, or kitchen that doesn’t have anything she can chew or hurt herself on, and if she has an accident it will be easy to clean up? how long will it be before you get the other enclosure? sometime today? it would be better for her to be in a smaller cage for a day or two than out in an unsafe area.

You can put her into the tub as long as there’s no water in it. Buns and swimming usually don’t go good together. I think though that she’ll fe fine in your room.
