Where do you get hold of NIC cubes or similar product?  I’ve been on the lookout for months but not in likely places. (kmart, target, bigw, bunnings etc.)  My online search showed Aldi’s have it but are selling out.  Problem is we don’t have that store in SA.

        Any help appreciated, ta.

I get mine from bunnings, and they def stock them in ACT cause I bought some yesterday. They’re only in white and are called handy cubes or something like that (sorry, thrown out packaging). I usually find them near the sorage bins etc at the back of the store. They’re about $9 for a pack of 5 or 6. I would say ask the bunnings staff but they’re not known for their instore knowledge. Apart from bunnings I haven’t seen them anywhere else sorry.

Red Dot? Is that like a variety store? I’ve checked our variety “$2” shops with no luck. Think I’ll ask at bunnings instead of trying to locate instore myself. Any excuse to go to Bunnings!!

Red Dot is like the Reject Shop … quite different from the $2 shop … I have also tried in those shops myself, but saw nothing.  Red Dot sell some ok stuff but a lot of it is C R A P!

I have also seen them in Bunnings but they are soooooooo expensive … I believe Lisa bought her’s from Bunnings too, but if your bun is somewhat of a cage biter and cage arranger the ties can get chewed through and cubes can get damaged by the pulling around.  I saw Lisa’s set up and a lot of her cubes had been damaged by some of her buns’ biting, subsequently causing the plastic coating to fall away.  However, Lisa has 7 bunnies

Another option would be a storage shop … something like Howards Storage which basically storage items … but once again they are expensive.

Have you tried using a pen … they do take up much more room so if space is a at a premium for you the cubes are the better option.  One bun would probably not do so much damage.  Pens are a good idea as you can move them around to please yourself.  I also set my pens up outside when the sun is out and put the buns and piggies out there in the fresh air … I think they need some fresh air, just like us humans  and that way they can graze on the grass.

Yeah, we have Reject Shop, Cheap as Chips and The Warehouse. All a step up from $2 shops but mixed quality as you say!!! I’m really looking to get them for barriers or to rig together an enclosure if I have to have Jersey bunny-sat. She has her own ‘room’ which is an enclosed porch with big windows. She ‘sleeps’/keeps guard on top of a chest of draws at the widow sill height. She can see outside and anyone looking into her domain from the adjoining kitchen window. I don’t think she’ll ever agree to be put in a cage/condo. That horse has already bolted!!
Anyway the cube would be handy to have if I get another bun…….dreaming….ahhh!

Jerseygirl, once a freerange bunny always a free range bunny. I made Charlie a condo thinking he would like his own space and stuff and he’s pretty annoyed about the conept of a cage. I have to use banana to get him to even go inside (there’s no door so he’s never actually locked in) but for some reason it’s very uninviting for him and he avoids that corner of the house now except to use his litter tray. We were hoping that by building hima house he would surrender the couch to us but no such luck.

Ah I’m so lazy…I’m motvated to do one thing at a time, recently it was the bunny condo, currently it’s convincing boyfriend that not being able to sit on the couch he bought cause Charlie doesn’t ike him really is ok…so after the most recent lunge incident I bought boyfriend a beanbag. I’ll post it up over the weekend

hi jerseygirl we got ours from bunnings but it was pretty hard to find in that big warehouse…there was only one kind (i was expecting some sort of variety!), but yeah, we had walk around before we found them hiding on a bottom shelf.

anyway we don’t even use them now because the bunbun manages to push them out of the way or jump over them!
