  Here is an email from Kathy Smith on this if you have preordered this book (I didn’t even know about it but I WILL be purchasing this):
  
  As some of you know, in February I was offered the wonderful opportunity to help Lucile Moore (author of A House Rabbit Primer) finish a new book: When Your Rabbit Needs Special Care: Traditional and Alternatie Healing Methods when her original co-author, Marie Mead, withdrew from the project. Obviously, this caused some delay past the original March 1, 2008 publication date.
  
  It has been a very busy four months for both of us. The publisher let us know on Monday that the book was being printed, bound, and shipped to warehouses this week and that distributors like Amazon should have books available to fill orders sometime next week. Ironically, today Amazon changed the information about the book from “available for pre-order” to :
  
  Currently unavailable.
  We don’t know when or if this item will be back in stock.
  
  We are not sure why this happened NOW, but are trying to get word out to as many people as possible.
  For any of you active on public lists (especially PetBunny and EtherBun), if any questions are raised about the book, please help spread the word that people who pre-ordered from Amazon should NOT cancel their orders. The book was originally estimated at 312 pages with a cover price of $16.95 and the Amazon pre-order price was substantially discounted from that. The final book is 450+ pages and will have a cover price of $19.95.
  
  For those who may be wondering … although there is some overlap in topics with Rabbit Health in the 21st Century, the the information is very different and has a different focus. The two books are complementary rather than competitive. The special care book includes instructions on taking a rabbit’s temperature and giving medications (oral and injections) and sub-Q fluids. I think everyone remembers wishing (the first time they were on their own to do these things) that they had taken notes when their vet showed them how.

  I just got an email from Amazon this minute that says they’ve canceled the item from my order and they won’t be getting the book in!
  
  I had no intention of canceling this order! How dare they go and do it for me?
  
  Honestly, I am fed up with this vendor. They have messed me up more than once and I am done with their attitude. >_< I'll order the book from Barnes when it is available, they give me respect there. *nods*

  that was rotten. I like barnes n noble. We have one locally. They have a cafe too. We can go in and read any book for however long. All day even. They have chairs everywhere. Very nice. I will check on their books when I get back that way again. Great a new book on buns. At last. All the others are outdated. Hurrah
