So I’ve noticed the past couple of days that Boston is not eating her hay and she is usually a hay freak. The only thing I can think of is that we bought her some Alfalpha Cubes as a treat, do you think maybe she likes these more, so she is avoiding the Timothy?

well did you switch hay brands or anything? sometimes you get at batch that’s just not so hot.

has she been eating the cubes and other things ok? just to rule out any possible tooth or such issues.

are you still giving her the alfalfa cubes too?

Nope, we didn’t switch brands at all, and she’s mouwing down on the alfapha cubes and eating her pellets and veggies just fine.

We stopped giving her the alfalpha in an attempt to get her to eat the timothy. she is eating a little bit, but not much

I find if I switch hays, my buns get picky about what I offer for food. Especially if they’ve had a high calorie content hay like alfalfa or wheat or oat. It’s like junk food to them I think.
Try to be firm, bunny will do anything to get you to give her the ‘sweet stuff’. Does she need to put on weight or anything? Otherwise I think alfalfa is too caloric for a grown bunny’s needs.

HEr weight is actually really good, so we just bought it as a treat, and to give her something to stay occupied while stuck in her cage all day

i’d only give one to her a couple times a week. the cubes are not a substitute for regular hay and if it’s affecting her normal intake, that’s not good.. also, BB has the Oxbow Timothy Cubes, same thing, but with Tim Hay. you might want to get those instead if she does like muching the cubes. i give mine the tim cubes every once in awhile for a treat.
