Well, we brought Lily home last night! She is 12 weeks old, a Rex mix, and super sweet! We let her get settled in last night in her Xpen upstairs. Lily and Brownie were introduced today, in the bathroom (neutral territory). I had a litterbox with lots of fresh hay set up.
Right away Brownie hopped up to her and mounted her, twice. Lily was fine with that. She right away started grooming Brownie, and he seemed to love that. Brownie seems to be the one presenting himself for grooming, and Lily obliges right away. They both hopped into the litter box together, and nibbled some hay. We acutally had some bunny flops where they were cuddled next to each other. They were together like this with me right there with a spary bottle allafternoon. Played together in a box, shared a carrot, etc.
They are still together and seem totally comfortable with each other. They are now in the front room where Brownie’s cage is located and have been going in and out of the cage. Both seem very relaxed, and no territorial poops, no agression so far! They seem to be doing so well that I hate to separate them, but will put Lily back in her Xpen for the night to be safe. If this is “Love at first sight” (should I be so lucky?) then what process do I follow? Here I was prepared for a long struggle, and am happily surprised!
Here’s some pics!
