  … so i’m going to spill the beans here where no one knows who’s involved and scratch that itch a bit. my mom’s getting re-married!!! yay!
  
  she has been with her guy for several years now and is very very happy with him. tho i miss my dad every day (he passed 7yrs ago) i have grown to love having my extended step family and our big / busy family get-togethers. i’ve been calling them my step family for some time now & i’m really happy that they’re making it official. problem is that they want to keep it simple & only involve their kids at the actual wedding this august and then have an open house for friends & the rest of the family. so i can’t tell anyone the news. bah!
  
  mom has asked my sis to walk her down the aisle & me to be her bridesmaid it’s kinda wierd… being your mom’s bridesmaid… but in this circumstance i wouldn’t want it any other way. i only hope that they don’t seal the deal with too long of a kiss. that would be gross. lol. (some things you just never grow out of!)
  
  phew… feels better to tell some one… i hate secrets! thanks for reading.

  Awwww That’s fantastic news! I’m sorry to hear that you have lost your dad but I think it is wonderful that your mom has found love again, and that he is a wonderful person that you like as well! Congrats!

  congrats on your new extended family!!! i can imagine that’s tough after having lost your dad (even 7 years later), but he would have wanted your mom to be happy. and i think that’s great you guys will be part of the wedding.

  That’s great that you are so fond of him and his family. It’s been 25 years now since my brother passed away, and his wife remarried when their baby was about 3. My sister-in-law informed her second husband that she came with two sets of in-laws for him; her family and US. Fast forward 25 years later, my niece is getting married this August and all 3 families have known each other all this time and we will all be at her wedding. Your new family has just gotten bigger and better.
