Well I came home after a few minutes out. Hubby goes OH ohhh.  I go look and Ruby is sitting in Cotton’s litterbox. I go pick her up. Look for Cotton. No Cotton. Go look in the bathroom no Cotton or Nora. So I put Ruby in the bathroom and look under the bed and who do I find. Nora and Cotton. OH boy.

I believe our convicts had some outside help this time.

I take it Cotton jumped over his door gate and went to see the girls and pushed at the xpen and it came open just a tiny bit and out came the girls. I still can’t figure how Ruby got past the door gate to the living room tho it was in the right place. I hope she didnt’ squeeze thru the bars.

After I put them all in their play ground area I went and sat down. I got up, then again I saw Ruby had gotten out of the bathroom. Goodness. That girl.  She has picked up a nasty habit.   Well at least my bedroom is pretty much rabbit proof. I hope I protected my Sleep Number bed wires well enuf that they won’t get chewed in to 4 pieces again.

oh, the inmates are running the asylum…..hehehe. I know the feeling.

I have the same worry about my bed. I got a plastic storage box to put the pump in, cut a hole for the tube and wires to run out and duct taped that sucker shut before I put it under the bed.

I got some window screen wire (galvanized, not the vinyl) and cut a length to wrap around the cables and tubing several times, having and inch or two extend inside the storage box. Then put a couple of strips of duct tape around the bundle to make sure they didn’t worry it off. (i love duct tape)

Although I’ve seen a trial gnaw or two, they’ve left it alone for almost 2 years now. I just hope they never think of chewing the matress itself, my sleep number will be the floor!

I also wrapped the cords to the treadmill in window screen too.

I bent some hardware cloth into a shallow box top shape and put it over the wall plug and pushed my bed against it to hold it there. Since the window screen covers the wire up to the plug (now behind the hardware cloth) I don’t “think” they can get to it.

          silly buggers

Good idea I never thought to put the stuff in a box.
