I signed up for a rabbit agility class in Minnesota and we made the trek over there this morning. Radar was Ms. shy pants when we got there. She would not leave her carrier. When a little jersey wooly named Harvey came over to say hello she slapped his face and grunted. After that, I coerced her out of her carrier and when it was removed from the situation all was well.
The bunnies had playtime for the first 10 minutes and the last 10 minutes of class. That was hilarious. They’re like children on the first day of school. Checking each other out, chasing each other and then after class there was some naptime going on. Radar met a buddy named Alice too. After a couple of humps and bites, Alice submitted to Radar and they became buddies. They even tried to escape the room together and get the extra treats out of the instructor’s bag. When we got home, she totally crashed. She’s so sleepy from all of the excitement.
I think it will be slow going for a while but it’s such a great opportunity for her to socialize with other buns. Without me getting another right now. There is also a bunny playtime that is going to start in July. Similar to the puppy play sessions. This could get quite large. I can’t wait for that one.
Anyone in Minnesota should check out the golden valley humane society for their classes.
