I don’t think so, just my opinion – too many forums going on and a sad reminder to boot.

To me to many forums becomes overwhelming. Thats why I don’t go to other forums, I become lost in all the forum topics.

i’d rather have the rainbow bridge posts mixed in with the lighter lounge topics… seems to give a balance.

Perhaps a line at the bottom giving a link to the Rainbow Bridge website. It’s such a good site for what it does, that I think it would be more helpful to just refer people there.

i actually wrote BB yesterday with the suggestion of a Rainbow Bridge photo gallery (and she wrote me back that you said something similar!) iliked that idea b/c it’s there, but not as an “in-your-face” constant reminder. people could send their pics if they want along with a few words… or not. just a nice way to remember the ones that have passed. but you mean an actual forum for people to post that their bunnies have died… i’d have to say no. that would be too sad. i agree to keep it in the lounge where we can offer condolences and support, but discuss happier things as well.

i love the idea of a photo gallery!  it’d be like a virtual memorial place to visit.

We don’t have nearly enough posters to even justify the forums we already have. IMO with the number of posters we have here, one MAYBE two forums suffices. Personally, like someone else said above, I never go to the other forums because it’s too hard to keep track what posts are where and which posts I’ve posted in…it’s overwhelming

I agree with Beka27 and BabyBunsMum.

I think we have a great amount of posters. I checked out rabbitsonline before I found BinkyBunny and was totally scared off! Way too much traffic!

Love the idea of the photo gallery, and I too don’t like to see too many folder topics, it is overwhelming and I think we’ve got a great mix how it is now.

I’m not sure exactly what “Rainbow Bridge” is, but I do know today is my first day in this forum and I read the post about poor Lily…

                              I found myself crying about a bunny I’d never known…her poor owner…!

I agree that the owners need support and condolensces, without it being a sight of perpetual sadness…

…if there was one forum that was ALWAYS about those that had passed, I would never go to it…it would make me too sad…

I agree with mixing the joy with the sadness…it’s more true to life…

Yes because i think its a nice way to have rememberance and to be sad and share thoughts and prayers, its nice to have somewhere to go where everyone can appreciate your pain of loosing someone which most other people wouldnt understand

hmm…what a topic to start off with my first day on Binkybunny…I have just recently lost my precious baby bunny a few weeks ago due to a tragic accident. I’m really a bit surprised that so many people here don’t like the idea of a separate Folder for the RBB. Yes, it IS a sad topic, but it also IS reality, and we have to face it…I actually came here to Binkybunny, looking for a Rainbow Bridge Folder, but couldn’t find one. I think, it would be a nice idea, to have a SPECIAL place to post your thoughts, prayers or concerns, even grief support. and have a SPECIAL place for the Bridge Bunnies, our special babies… I mean, for someone who don’t want to go in to that topic, they wouldn’t have to go in to that Folder. Even better, cuz they know where to look, or to “avoid” it. I would really love the idea of a RBB Folder as a Tribute to all the Bridge Bunnies. I think, they “deserve” such a special place…A photo gallery is a great idea too. that would be a great memorial idea. its not easy to deal with grief…especially, I think, when it comes to our bunny loves…I think, if that is mixed in with the Lounge, it kind of feels like it is “misplaced” there, and easily overlooked, rather than be “appreciated”…

I would also love to share poems, or other things in a RBB Folder, that can give some comfort…

                                  thanks

                                  xx

kimberleyanddarren makes a great point about where everyone can appreciate your PAIN of loosing someone which most other people wouldn’t understand…

I really don’t think, adding another Folder would be too confusing…actually rather better organized, if that makes any sense…

I’m sorry Coco – it’s so hard to lose a beloved pet especially if it was in a tragic way.

I agree it’s a reality but and we all grieve but sometimes it’s best not to reminded every time you long on to a website – this is just my opinion – I’ve lost many rabbits and I still grieve but I want joy too. The grieving doesn’t stop in private ever so sometimes it’s good to not be reminded all the time.

I do think we all understand too about the pain which is why it’s better to have a mix of sad and happy.

Coco, I’m sorry for your loss as well.

I actually think your suggestion would be perfect for the Rainbow Bridge website, that is, for them to add a separate forum for Bunnies/small animals. It’s dedicated to the topic and designed to bring comfort and understanding, but as a bunny owner who went there first, I did feel a bit different because I didn’t have a dog or cat. People were very understanding nevertheless.

After a while I found this site, and it was as if I’d graduated out of my grief back into the land of the living, giving me reason to share happy memories and advice from what I’d learned. You know, Spockie died last December and I don’t even have a rabbit right now! But many members, particularly BinkyBunny, made me feel welcome, commiserated with my loss, and enjoyed my stories. It has been very helpful after the initial grief. I also fantasize about the day I get a new bunny and post about it.

I’ve yet to see anyone lack for sympathy and compassionate understanding when they lose a bun. In fact, we all get to know each other’s bunnies so well that it’s often like losing a special friend. Individual posts in the lounge are met with an outpouring of sympathy.

BB assured me that a tribute to Spockie was welcome, I have posted a video, and she added his picture to the Vogue Photo Gallery – which I loved. It is such an uplifting website that the issue is addressed on an as-needed basis. But I would encourage you to make your excellent point in favor of a separate forum to the Rainbow Bridge website itself. I think that’s where it’s needed the most.
Please post a picture of your baby. Sharing cherished memories is important.
