How many types of vegetables should my rabbit have a day?

Would herbs like basil be considered part of the treat section or vegetable section? (The basil I planted grew alot!)

I’d say herbs can be counted as a veggie since they aren’t high in sugar. But I give them as a treat since they are so flavourful I think three kinds of veggies a day-one high in Vitamin A-is the best way.

KK is right that herbs can count as a veggie. I know with mint and rosemary, I will give them as a treat, but I also add those things to their daily salads.

Minimum of three is best. Right now my bunnies get dandelion, parsley, cilantro, oregano, dill, basil, rosemary, arugula, romaine lettuce, mint…sometimes chicory.

For more selection choices and to find out which ones to avoid check out our veggie/fruit list https://binkybunny.com/Default.aspx?tabid=54&forumid=6&tpage=1&view=topic&postid=54141#54211

When you are just introducing new  veggies, then it’s best to add to the diet one type of veggie at time (add one new one per week) to help their digestive system get used to it.

I love your avatar those bunnies are so cute! My bunnies generally get 3 types of veggies per day – its typically romaine lettuce, collard greens, and parsley or cilantro for a bit of flavor!
