I like the higher ones myself. Mine are 36 inches. Who makes this one? I have the Midwest ones and I really like them.

Does this open anywhere – the Midwest has a door but it also has these clamp things that attach to pen together (the 2 sides that meet) and I like to open that way to do litter boxes and to get my rabbits out for meds or nail trims or groomings rather than through the door.

I am quite short myself and I am regretting the super high ex-ens I got! The reason is that when you are doing things like cleaning, or putting water dishes or food dishes and your hands are full so you can’t really open the door, it helps a lot to be able to bend over the sides of the pen (that could just be me though!) – but thats one thing to think about. If you have difficulty with your rabbit jumping out, one thing you could do is clothespin a sheet over the top of the expen for a few days to train the rabbit that hopping out is not OK!

the pen i have is the 36 inch, and it is tall, but i feel more secure that they cannot get out. the one i have has a door that opens all the way to the top, so i can step thru the opening easily. there’s no way you’d be able to get into that one, besides disconnecting the sides. just a thought…

mine are from PetSmart.    *walks away to check what brand*    yeah, they are by Midwest too.  you’ll see in the pic that the whole door, except for about 6 inches on the bottom, opens up.  i am able to walk right thru to clean up and refill things, and the 6 inch ledge is low enough that the bunnies can hop easily in and out.  all i do is secure the doors open with a clip to keep it from swinging shut on them.  they’re available in 24, 36 or 42 inch.  24 is too low, 42 is not necessary… 36 is just right… (sounds like Goldilocks… lol!)

oh yeah! that’s the plan once they are bonded. even if you just got one xpen now for Tonks, you could easily get another one if (when) you decide to get her a friend later on.

Oh yes, definitely they can. These are like mine and they are very nice.

They have these clip things that clips the sides together and you can clip two together with no problem.

As far as cleaning – I usually unclip the sides and just get in the space and do what I need to do if it’s for the litter box otherwise I just open the gate and vacuum, clean and feed that way with no problem. You can always clean too when Tonks is out so I don’t think you would need to a shorter one.

It looks like the 36″ is shorter than the ones that I have – the ones I have a SUPER TALL and I can’t even step over the sides or lean over (I’m a bit on the short side though!) I think mine may be the 42″ ones. Its really fun to join the ex-pens together and make HUGE pens. In fact, with a big one you could probably put a Mazehaven in there

BECAUSE they weren’t in there yet!  trust me, it does not look like that now.  that was still in the set-up stage! 

As long as I get 2 x-pens I’m good!  I promise not to poop all over or have hay parties.
