        Quick question;

        So I have read that bunnies are supposed to be given 3 types of greens, of like something around 4 cups a day for every 5 pounds they are.

        Is there such thing as a bunny eating too much greens? Sometimes I just let Smoochies eat out of her greens bin from the frig. and she eats until she is happy then just hops away.

        Also do most of you guys give 3 types of greens a day or what? (I give my bun 2 types most of the time and sometimes 3) Is that bad?

            Hahaha – one day Smoochies will probably teach herself how to open the fridge and let herself into the veggie bin I think the only issue you could run into is your bunny starting to get softer or runnier poops if she eats too much veg and not enough hay. Even if she’s munching out of her veggie bin, just make sure she still eats hay throughout the rest of the day.

              my buns get a lot of greens, but they also eat lots of hay, so i’m not too worried about it. i usually give 4 types of greens a day. make sure the veggies in the bin (so cute btw!) are ones that are not too high in calcium, or have been known to cause problems. as always, keep an eye on her poop, pee and behavior.

                You guys are so helpful, (she does eats lots of hay, I sometimes even direct her to them after eating greens because of its help in digesting and keeping the greens moving through) especially since I am a big, huge, worrier of my babies!

                Becka- how do you know which ones are high in calcium. I have only seen lists of veggies they can eat…

                  BB has a diet section under Bunny Info at the top…  binkybunny.com/Default.aspx

                  in that section is a link to a veggie list… binkybunny.com/Default.aspx   it’s the most thorough list i’ve seen.  if you scroll down it has some foods that are okay to feed but that might cause problems so you have to watch out.  along with those listed… kale and spinach are also high in calcium, so they should not be fed more than (i believe) 2 or 3 times a week.

                  i printed out a copy of the list and i take it with me to the grocery store, so if i want to try something new, i know what is okay.
