aww poor bindi!  baby hasn’t had any ear probs… thank goodness because her eyes are enough upkeep.  i can relate to your situation though because baby needs eye drops 3x / day with a face wash & massage and now also metacam 1x / day so she’s always on the bath counter being administered to.  she has gotten quite reasonable with me but at first she’d be pretty ticked off afterwards.  i think she’s better now because i fake her out a bit & make it seem like a head pet session & then sneak in a warm facecloth.  plus i’m super quick with the eye drops now.  she only gets really ticked when i also clip nails or wipe her ‘area’ & anal glands.  that pushes her to flick her foots at me when i set her back down.

so what’s all involved with the ear wash?  do you dampen a cloth with the wash stuff & then rub?  could you make it seem like a head pet session & then sneak in an ear wash?

Have you tried offering a treat after the ear cleaning session? My bunnies hate having their nails trimmed, so what I do is once they are done getting their nails trimmed, I keep them in my lap and I feed them a papaya tablet and pet them for a little while. They seem to remember the LAST thing that we do together, so generally when I put them down they are pretty happy because they just got a treat and a nice pet session I think also your bunny will eventually start to appreciate you caring for him. Quite often, people end up bonding even more closely with their bunnies when they have to have so much interaction with them. I had to give one of my bunnies meds every day, and I did it instead of my husband. Now that bunny is much closer to me than my husband because we spent so much time wrestling around trying to get Baytril in his mouth!

I’ve been dealing with Irritable Bun Syndrome myself lately, turns out Mimzy was unhappy because I was rationing his wheat hay more than he thought was necessary. So I know exactly how you feel! >_< But I've been very lucky with him and his ears…he doesn't' seem to have much trouble with them at all, despite being loppy. (Pip is another story and she's an uppy ear bun!)
Last night though I had to ‘turn him over my knee’ because I had to see his teeth. Since I was worried he wasn’t eating like his usual self, but they turned out okay. As a result, I had to give LOTS of good pets to get back in his good graces, he was VERY miffed at me!

It used to be I could roll him over with not much difficulty, but lately he is just not up for it. I have no idea why. Must be a Mercury retrograde or something for bunnies. 0_o;
