I think, its about shedding season…everywhere…its pretty bad this year…I  really don’thave any advise, tho…other than *brush*brush*brush*…my bunny HATES those slicker cat brushes, but I have found a “cat” brush with some soft rubber on top, she’s tolerating that one a bit better. Also, I have heard to give papaya tablets and fresh pineapple juice as a prevention for hairballs…but I’m not sure about the dosis.

          *remember to brush*…,hehe…

There was another shedding/grooming questing somewhere in here a little while ago. I was looking for a solution to Smudge’s crazy molting and decided to order the Furminator that everyone was talking about in that thread. I’m still waiting for it to arrive, should be any day now but everyone else seemed to love it. The only downside I seemed to find was that you have to watch not to over groom and of course be gentle.

Oh I am sooo glad Edson has finally stopped shedding!  It’s awful and lasted at least 3 weeks!  I use a comb with rubber intertwined throughout the tines.  Works great! The rescue uses this. Be careful with those furminators.  You can really injure the bun if you are not careful.  Bunnytowne over did it with Cotton so I would do it only 2 or 3 times a week.  It’s true the more you brush the more it all comes out!  No, buns don’t lose all their fur.  Edson looked really weird for awhile.  He does not have that black triangle above his nose anymore!  It’s now black all the way to the top of his head!  He had a white triangle above the black one for a couple days and that disappeared.  It’s so weird! hang in there!  It’s a real drag.  I vacuumed so much more during this shed!

after i brush i dampen a paper towel and rub it over the fur to pick up the loose bits too. then it’s funny b/c the bunnies do that shake trying to get the bit of water off.

You can get the furminator in most pet stores, but I got a knock-off from ebay for waaaay cheaper (furminator=75$, knock-off=13$ WITH shipping!!)
It works quite well too! But yes, be gentle with it!!
