Okay, Please note that I am asking in advance for the forgiveness of all the obviously enlightened male personages on this board when I say….

        HUSBANDS! OI!!!

*ahem*  I have a rather stupid question but, is it okay for bunnies to eat guinea pig pellets? I notice they don’t have the fiber content recommended for bunnies, and I’m not sure if they have other things in them that bunnies shouldn’t eat.

Sent the hubby to the store for timothy pellets and this is what he came back with. Honestly, THERE ARE PIGGIES ON THE LABEL!!! Is he blind? >_<

Meh, to some men, all small furry creatures look alike.

If it was just one or two days of them eating it, I wouldn’t worry about it. Although not high in fiber, the foodstuff is rathe similiar and it should pass just fine. If you haven’t fed them yet, just get rid of them.

I would really read the label closely and compare it to your regualr pellet. I really do not recommend feeding your rabbit anything but pellets made for a rabbit, but your hubby made a mistake. Can you post links to the products?

              LOL :~)

I wouldn’t worry a huge amount as Markus said. They do usually have extra vitamin c or vitamin c pellets because piggies cannot produce vitamin c.

I know in a pinch I’ve had to feed piggies rabbit pellets but never vice-versa though I would if I had too for a bit.

S’ok…I’m just going to have him return them since they’re not opened. He kept the receipt, thank goodness.

It’s just the KayTee brand, Scarlet. Same kind of green bag and that’s probably all he saw. *sigh*

Oh yeah, have him return them if they aren’t opened :~) I thought you had actually given them to your buns for a few days which won’t hurt them but it’s not obviously formulated for them.

                    …MM…I’m sorry, I just can’t resist…
How about returning the husband and keeping the piggie pellets? Just get a new piggie…

(and I was going to say he could just return the pellets. Even opened most stores take them back, at least for an exchange.)

Were these the Oxbow pellets?  I don’t know about you folks, but to my ever more farsighted eyes the Bunny Basics T, 15/23 (stupid name, that) and the Cavy  Cuisine packaging looks exactly the same!  Same colors, same fonts, and the timothy and 15/23 alfalfa pellets have the same picture of a bunny on them.  I always have to triple check to be sure I’ve gotten the right one.

Although I don’t have a wife to double check for me, y’all don’t have to worry. Maryann lets me know if I don’t give her the right type of pellets.

spoiled lil….. ah, gotta love them.

Well, the man who will swim through shark-infested waters to bring me a lemonade took the wrong pellets back and got the right ones. *joyful dance* I suppose I can pat him on the head and throw him a bone. ^_^

I get how it was a simple mistake, I just hate it when he rushes things. This is why stuff happens. When we all go into town together to grocery shop, it’s always ‘move at the speed of lint’…it’s kind of frustrating.

But, anyway…we has happy bunnies now..yes we do! xD

I hear that with my bad ear, Markus…my two are now so spoiled they turn their noses up at dandies and grass/hay from the yard, Mimzy ate that all last summer. Now it’s only the best romaine hearts, endive and organic italian parsley for these two brat buns…YIKES.

Maybe I should’ve called them Mr. Howell and Lovie?

They’ve just booked a reservation at the Ritz Carlton for Waldorf salads. Shhhh. Don’t tell Mum and Dad.

Mr. Howell and Lovie, LOL That’s cute, oh yes and hold your breath when you open your credit card bill as I am sure they charged the Ritz to your account.
