So far the rabbits are settling in really well to the move; right now they are all sandwiched into a bedroom, cage next to cage to get away from the stress of moving/unpacking, etc.

Yuuki was my “first born” – first bun I got on August 30, 2007. He wasn’t much of a cuddle bun (which is to be expected) but he did put up with it while he was young…then after puberty hit he was like, “No cuddling for me, Mom! I’m a big boy now!”

Anyway, he’s been acting out since the move – probably because he’s so close to the other males…so I took him out last night to let him run around the new place and get some energy out.

He just sat on the floor…

So I picked him up on and sat with him on the floor…and he snuggled into the crook of my arm and just sat there while I pet him for about 20 minutes…

I was like, ‘Aww, baby boy’s scared and wants mummy to hold him!!!’

Anyway, it was so adorable. I just find it incredible how they seek comfort from the only thing that has stayed constant in the move!!

LOL…not such a bad a$$ bunny after all. Hopefully he will continue to enjoy the cuddles after all the newness wears off. Did you have to move fish tanks as well? That is the worst.

how are they going to be set-up after the move? all in the bedroom? wouldn’t it be cool (anbd this is MAJOR wishful thinking!) if when they were all altered they ALL got ALONG and you could just have a herd of buns running around?! in a perfect world right?

edited:  not “after the move”, after you’re all settled in i mean.

Yeah, the plan is to have them all altered and bonded at some point; and getting along with the dog…but for now they will live in the living room so they can get some attention from me, not in a room together!

Sounds like you’re all adjusting really well. Your Dad’s been really great through all this.

I moved Spockie so much that he really became good at making changes, as long as certain things remained constant. The interior of his cage was exactly the same. Same routines: feeding times, bed time. Also, I let him get on the furniture he was familiar with as soon as possible. Just a few chairs and the couch. It was so he knew that our “stuff” was still there, just the set up and rooms were different. He never peed on them.
Maybe if they’re all used to hearing each other they could be able to know that the others are all there as usual.
