This will be a short note since I’m EXHAUSTED! But I am moved!!! Everything went super smoothly, let alone for one mishap with Jazz…when carrying his cage in the apartment the bottom fell out and he went flying, but he was okay!
The bunnies are settling in WONDERFULLY; no one is too stressed at all, they are all eating hay and food and drinking water!
I am so tired, but I just wanted to let you guys know it went well!!!!!!
Pics soon!!!
for goodness sake LL… REST!!! i am exhausted just *thinking* about moving! congrats again. i can’t wait to see pics.
Congratulations! I know how exhausting it can all be even though it’s exciting too.
Awesome! Congratulations and get some rest. Trust me you will still be unpacking stuff weeks from now no matter how hard you are working. Just kick back and enjoy. This whole thing has been a journey and you have come through with flying colors.
Looking forward to the pictures.
Congratulations!
I resisted the urge the other day to post “LL – only 24 hours to go!” but was tempted.
I am still kind of tired from the change of moving and it’s been a month now. Just take it slowly and sort out your immediate necessities and rest a lot. They advise you to make one room clean and finished, so that when you can’t stand to unpack another thing or look at one more box, you go into the “done” room and close the door to relax. Glad the gang is ajusting well.
i am a major neat freak, at least as far as organization (i don’t knock myself out over a bit of dust). when we moved a few years ago Mike was laughing at me b/c i labelled the moving boxes to an extreme level. instead of just “kitchen”, i’d put “kitchen: knives, spoons, measuring cups, can of peas, magnets, napkin holder, etc…” it was really ridiculous. but i least i could find everything!
uh, Beka…..ahem…..me too.
There’s nothing worse than desperately hunting for the coffee maker and unwrapping your grandmother’s tea cups.
Yeah me too on the neat freak issue… congrats on the house and finally moving!
congrats on the move lion_lop!!! def post some pics as soon as you’re rested =)
years ago when i was helping pack mom & dad we started out labelling every box in detail. then it got to crunch time before the movers were coming & we all pulled an all-nighter in order to get everything packed on time. needless to say those last boxes had little or no labels! i even accidentally packed all my moms bras which was problematic because there stuff was going into storage for 3 months. oops.
congrats hun! hows the thing with the horses going?
L_L I am so happy for you!!! That’s great you’ve gotten yourself moved into your new home, sans tanning bed on top of a bed. Too bad they didn’t leave that, huh? LOL
Let us know when you move Kayo!
Uh, oh, neat-freak confession time….*blush* me too, only I went so far as to type the lists out and I made laser labels with numbers and associated those numbers with the lists. LOL I am such a dork but hey, like you said Beka you can find everything and who does everyone run to if they can’t find anything? YOU.
Wow – everyone is such organized movers! I usually start strong but at the end end up shoving all kinds of random things in to “smorgasboard” kind of boxes…I think the toughest part is moving with animals because its hard to make sure that they are comfortable, and that everything that they need is easily accesible. When we drove from LA to Dallas – it was really hard because we spent two nights in hotels, and had to unload and set up 7 bunnies each night, then break it all down and pack it up in the morning!
Hey guys!!
Thank you so much for your warm thoughts!!! I have to say the only downside to the house right now is how chilly it gets at night – gahhh…I am bundled up in a sweater and my fingers and nose are SOOOO cold…I don’t want to turn on the heat because of the energy bill, but I can’t live this cold – it’s about 66 degrees…gets up to 70 in the day (these past 2 days have been rainy and cold; when we moved on Friday it was wayyyy warmer!)…
Anyway, my dad helped out by buying a lot of things I needed; like a trash can, cups, other little things I definitely appreciate… and then last night around 8 we went to the hardware store and bought $150 of wood for the barn – then did some demo on the shed at 9 30 at night! It’s 8 am right now and we’re going to head out in a few minutes, because dad needs to leave soon (sad!!
)…I am taking lots of pics so I’ll be sure to share
So, for now I am off!
Moobunnay – I can only imagine how crazy that was to set up and break down 7 rabbit homes each night – gah!!
As for the organizing in packing…heh, I tried……then I stopped caring and just put anything in a box with anything else!!!
I shall talk to you guys soon!!! ![]()
Unpacking and barn building! YE GODS!!!! You go girl.
L_L can you get a small space heater and use it when you are home? You can control what area is warmed and for how long rather than turning on a heating system which can cost more. I use an oil filled space heater and they are pretty economical. Does your house have a fireplace?
cant wait to see pics!
Hey, I have definitely thought of a space heater! If the temp keeps fluctuating like it is (68 at night, 80 in day) then I will have to do something cuz the buns are gonna go nuts! Not to mention me…lol…
Anyway, pics soon!!!! I will post a new topic of them ![]()
68 at night does not sound cold to me. That’s usually the temp of our place at night, and we are comfortable. What temperature at night are you normally used to?
Heh, I’m just a baby when it comes to cold in my house
I love winter but I hate being cold at night! I’m used to 74 or so as a constant temp ![]()
oh yeah, i am comfortable at 68. earlier in the spring, it would drop down to about 62 at night. we’d wake up freezing cold… but it would warm up quickly afterwards.
Hate to say it but 68 is warm to me as well. Perhaps if you buy an electric blanket or mattress pad instead? That may be just the ticket for you! ![]()
