  i have an account on facebook and a while back i received a friend request from my namesake who lives in germany. i thought this was pretty cool… we learned a wee bit about eachother since i have many relatives in germany tho i do not think we’re related at all. actually there’s a group of gals with my exact name from around the world which is pretty cool to know about.
  
  so anyways… earlier today i heard my cell phone make a weird noise & aparently i had a text message waiting for me. lol. i’m really showing my age now aren’t i? i NEVER text and this was only the 2nd text i have ever received. lol.
  
  the message said “happy birthday little wee sprout. i hope you have a fun day. i may call to harass you later. alles liebi!”
  
  then, a couple of minutes later i was checking out my facebook messages & low & behold… it’s my namesake’s birthday today! coincidence???
  
  ps… my b-day’s not til october

  Facebook (catering to the younger crowd) has the ability to sync your profile with you mobile device, to allow people to send you text messages from your Facebook account. Did you ever give facebook your cell phone number? If so, someone most likely meant to text the other person with the same name, but got your account instead.

  i didn’t think i had put my cell number on my facebook account… i rarely hand out that number… but i double checked. nope. couldn’t have gotten my # that way. the # that texted me was from great britain… had a +44 country code. sooo wierd. i left a b-day message on my namesake’s facebook page about this… it’d be so funny tofind out if she *was* actually supposed to be the recipient. what are the odds?
