All the bunnies got a long great last night and most of the day today Bubba (the one who was returned) have slept in the bathroom together, groomed each other eat together.

I had to put Bubba in his cage because mum is chasing him and biting the underneath of his tail.  Is she trying to bite his private parts and what is going on why is she doing this?  She is relentless.  He is not doing anything to her he doesn’t even have to walk up to her she actually looks for him.  She has done this to any of her other kids just him.    I just want to understand what is going on.

Is she biting him or looking for a “treat”?
I have noticed my buns will . . um . . steal . . each others cecal poops. Could that be what she is doing?

You said in your other post that you had to cut off knots in his mane from the owners who returned him. (argh! glad he’s back.) Did you examine the area under his tail at all? What caused the knots? I’m wondering if whatever it was is still making him smell, and may even be in his fur back there. She may be trying to groom it out, or may dislike him because of a strange new smell like bunnytowne said.

I emailed you back and based on the fact that his siblings are attacking him too – my guess is since they were separated the bond has been broken. However – as Pam suggested I would absolutely look to see if there are any signs of injury or problem.

If he’s being attacked by the other bunnies, he should be separated and living on his own. If you are planning to keep him and not rehome him, then you’ll want to use the bonding section of the site to learn more about how to bond bunnies.

The lady from Animal Firends said she would come to my house and show me how to bond them.  They are have a bonding session for bunnies in the middle of June.  I will be there

I checked all over when he came home.   His mane is so thick that he should have been and is being brushed daily since he is back home.  I posted a pic of him click on the link below.  He is so good.  He is alos spoiled since we really can ot put him down while Oreo is around he has a lot out time from his cage and being carried like a baby.  He doesn’t have a problem and seems to enjoy it.  He loves being brushed.  I am not real good with the posting of the pics so you will be seeing all the buns again.  Not sure how to create a new album

The lady from Animal Firends said the same as gravehearted that the bond has most likely been broken and there is a good possibility that she could castrate him.  Not good there I told Oreo I would rather pay for the neturing myself.

We don;t mind seeing all the bun’s pics again…they are so cute. I’m glad Bubba got to come back to you instead of being discarded somewhere.

I was wondering if mom was trying to spare you the cost of a neuter—LOL!  I too was afraid that you might have to rebond him.  He reminds me of an owl w/ the tan nose.  It looks like a beak.  What a precious little man.  I’m so glad he’s safe & sound w/ you again.
