Hi everyone! Long time no see! Well mom hasen’t budged about getting a bunny arg, but I think she is softening up because…….she let me get a ferret! I tried to get a bunny, but she thinks ferrets are less smelly let me tell you they really aren’t, but he’s a sweetheart! I’ll keep trying to get a bun, but right now I am at pet overload, so I’ll have to wait until my rats pass on (tears). I know ferrets are enemies of bunnies, but I have some friends on a ferret forum who have bunnies who love their ferret friends! I’m not sure what my mom has against buns…….. Must have been Spinner just through her off or something. My b-day is in October, so we’ll see. 5 monthes!!!! My friend who owns Jackie is quickly losing interest in her, so might just end up with her. She says she loves her, but the best thing for her bun would be a good home where it is fed hay (she gives Jackie one of those junk food mixes for rabbits and no hay!!!) and pretty much 0 time out of the cage because Jackies “boring”. Week I took care of Jackie she wasn’t boring. Well just wanted to say hi again!!!!
Oh and I am so sorry about Bailey, Binky Bunny!!!!!
yes ferrets are smelly and some will bite sorry ferret lovers. I know how much you luv buns. may it work out for you. maybe your mom will realize eeew smelly ferret the bun didn’t smell while big sis was taking care of it. hmmm.
you know that now u have a ferret u cant have a bunny whilst it is still alive?
ferrets hunt bunnys (thanks K&K for pointing that out to me!) and will try and get at the bunny so nope, u cant have both im affraid
Yes I know ferrets hunt bunnies, but I have some friends on a ferret forum who have bunnies who love their ferret friends. If the bunny is bigger than him and he doesn’t hunt my rats (which he doesn’t infact he acts like they’re not even there) than there is a possiblilty I can.
oh right, i only heard that someones bun had been killed by their ferret so (as i was thinking of getting a ferret) i decided there was no chance i was even going to risk it but its up 2 u of course ![]()
Oh I feel so sorry for Jackie! She’s “boring” because she doesn’t get to come out of her cage and develop her personality!!! That is so sad. Can you convince her to give her hay, the most essential part of a bun’s diet? I hope you can rescue her because this is so tragic for Jackie. This just makes me so angry that people treat animals this way. They certainly do not deserve to have them. Hopefully you can do something about this!
I know, right! I’m trying to convince her right now, but I’m not sure she’ll listen cause I don’t want to sound like a know it all. She and her dad have (sorta jokingly) offered to give me Jackie, but my mom…….
Oh just texted her and she says once she has money she’ll get some hay. I wonder why if she doesn’t have money she has a rabbit.
Hey Sis, welcome back…your ferret sounds very cute. Any Sorry to hear you have to be the voice of reason for yet another rabbit trapped in a clueless environment. I am sure you will get the info across and you know we will back you up! LOL
Welcome back Bigsis, and thank you.
So what does your mom now think of the ferret? They are definitely high-energy pets that have that natural “musky” scent.
I’m sorry to hear that your friend still isn’t paying enough attention to her bunny. Tell her to make a cardboard box town for Jackie, and spend more time with her and she’ll find out that Jackie can be alot of fun. How does she react when you try and give her helpful information?
I’m sorry I’m cracking up-a ferret is less smelly then a bunny? Too cute. But hey, whatever your allowed right? We love the fuzzy fur and sweat hearts, no matter the species!!
Word of warning (not to rain on your parade, something I learned) ferrets=predator of rabbits. So, if you get a rabbit while you have your ferret, careful to keep them seperate!!!
At least your mom is showing weakness and allowing some pets!! i know some people who were never allowed pets…that would really really suck…*hugs*
Binky Bunny: Well my mom and dad love him and whats really wierd is he isn’t very high energy! He prefers to cuddle! He does have a musky smell, but it’s not to offensive, but still a little smellier than the bun. When I try to give her information she says she’ll do that when she has money or when I told her how much time they need out of the cage she said “I know.” If she knows then why isn’t she doing it? ARG!
KK: Yeah I’ll keep them seperated. My ferret (Oliver) is probably to lazy to hunt anyways and is a “vegan”. He won’t eat anything, but his kibble!
LOL, a vegan ferret!? I was under the impression ferret kibble contained meat products…one of the reasons their poop stinks. Oliver sounds really cute. As K & K said, at least your mom is allowing pets. You would not believe the things I had to do to get and keep my first cat. I won’t go into details cause I don’t want to give you any ideas…but emotional black mail combined with levers and pulleys played a part. I was one very determined evil brat.
have u any pics of ur ferret? i would love 2 see i have always wanted one!

welcome back bigsis! wow… a ferret huh?
i just got the clicker training book for bunnies. in it it says that ferrets can be clicker trained too. you should consider doing that. it would be fun for you i think. and i bet your parent’s would get a kick outta a ferret doing tricks.
here’s a link about ferrets and clicker training… http://www.clickertraining.com/node/839
Here I’ll try to get some pics attatched. Theyre off my phone so not the best quality

What a sweet face he has!
I’m not big on ferrets (see Kindergarden Cop once as a kid and I’m ruined for life!) but this one IS pretty cute!
Thanks! I rescued him from a pet store and he’s so sweet!
