  It’s been a while since I posted any horse pics. So here are some various ones over the last 2 days.
  
  Yesterday was Misty day. So my part-lessee and I went out to spend some time with the bugger and ended up going to explore some trails; with K.D. riding and me walking.

  And here is Kayo’s day, today. I went out and groomed him and decided to try and ride for the first time this season We went exploring a trail and he was very well behaved; we had a few ditches to get over and he jumped them, heheh… except the first one which I had to lead him over and then on the way back the same thing, but he undershot and landed in the puddle and splashed muddy god knows what water on me! hahaha…

  Kayo and I encountered an obscene number of black flies on the trail…gah, they were awful…so, here’s a detailed narrative

  And then I wanted to film us going over a ditch on the way back, so here is him jumping one with me on him… WARNING: I swear in the video!!! hahha…he jumped a bit bigger than I expected and then started cantering, so I was just surprised But I do swear…!

  LOL! I love the little slip after Kayo made that jump. LOL Thank you so much for sharing all of your photos they were wonderful!!!

  I was holding the camera while riding. I decided to be naughty and not wear my helmet, as it was at my other barn where Misty is!! I know, tsk tsk on me!!

  Yes, they are a lot of work and they are REALLY expensive. As it is right now, I pay roughly $700/month for the two of mine (boarding, farrier, feed, etc). I am hoping to move my appy gelding (the one in the vids) to my new house, which will cut my costs dramatically.
  But yeah, they are expensive…lol…

  i can imagine! is the cleaning out the hardest part? i always wondered if the positives outway the negatives i know riding would be fun but alot of work!

  I personally do not mind mucking out stalls, but I have been doing that since I was very young; so to me it’s nothing. But for some people it’s a big hassle. I can usually clean a 10 x 12 stall in 5-10 minutes, depending on how messy the horse is!!!
  I would have to say the hardest part of owning a horse is pasture – because in the spring it gets SO muddy and ruins the ground, so the grass doesn’t grow. Then you have problems with grass and then it just repeats year after year.
  Oh, and watering in the winter…the frozen water is not fun…lugging hot water buckets to and from the barn and such!
