I usually give the veggies to them whole, but sometimes Brambles has a habit of only eating the stems off all the veggies and leaving the leaves, which doesn’t seem healthy, so I chop it up and mix it so he eats everything!

i keep everything whole in the fridge b/c i ahve found it keeps longer that way. when i wash them before serving i tear them up into smaller pieces and kind of toss them together… except for parsley and cilantro b/c Mead likes eating the whole thing in one shot.

Same as Beka: I chop into large chunks, except for the parsley & cilantro, and wash right before serving.

I always layer the parsley or cilantro on the bottom – theory being that since it is Kay & Winston’s favorite, they will have to eat down to it. But, no – they just dig it out.

For large leaves like romaine and kale I shred with a kitchen shears or rip with my hands if I am lazy.  Most of the herbs go in whole, unless they are super big then I break them in half.

i leave lettuce heads intact too & tear off / wash leaves as i go.  i usually tear big leaves into chunks but don’t chop up too much.  i love the munchy munchy noises when they’re eating their salads

whole. when the lettuce leaves are too big I tear them is funny they try to eat the whole thing and is too big hehehe. yes I just luv those crisp crunchy sounds. oh they  make greens and lettuce sound so fresh don’t they. the parsley and cilantro go in whole as do the roses with a little piece of stem or leaf without thorns. and they eat them all up the rose hips and all. those things are good for tea too the rose hips. and petals I make tea from hibiscus flowers too I have a dehydrator  makes a nice tea and helps me sleep..

Same as Beka too! I do get a kick of hearing Edson munching like crazy.  No one else in my house likes salad as much as he does!

i chop mine because i like to give them a little of what they like mixed in with everthing because that way i think it lasts longer and he enjoys it more

I got into the habit of pre-washing my veggies and organizing them into separate ziplocs or plastic tubs in the fridge because that would make it easier for my daughter to get greens for her bun when she was having a busy day. When the romaine leaves are twice as tall as the bunnies, I do tend to split them in half, but otherwise pretty much leave their food alone.
I admit I do get a kick out of salad ‘arrangements’. I swear, Gordon Ramsey would probably make me head chef of my own rabbit restaurant with the time I take to make the bowls of food as aesthetically pleasing as possible…which is the stupidest thing to do because the buns promptly tear into them and throw things all over willy-nilly and all my hard work is lost! >.<
Ah well…it makes me happy to make pretty bowls of supper for them. And I tend to decide I want a salad too instead of a bag of chips when I’m preparing their food.

I am a chopper and shredder. Alton Brown said it was better to hand rip lettuce.
Something about the way the cells are (ok now I sound super dorky) LOL but I chop
the dandelions in to large portions, herbs I usually leave whole if they are a decent
size, if not I just take the leaves and throw away stems that are too thick…such as
Mint or Lemon Balm. I also chop bell peppers into medium size slivers. Lets just say
                            Floppy gets quite a salad!!!

I love leaving the dandelions whole and watching them go down like a long piece of spaghetti! ^_^

Unless I have a pet sitter, then I keep the greens whole, however, i do have to tear up some of the wider greens, like Romaine and big dandelion greens, into smaller pieces for Rucy since she is missing her incisors and a few back molars.
