Yesterday was my day off from work, and I wanted to visit my Sheltie pup Aren before bringing her home when I move to my new house in 23 days (yes I’m counting down!!)
So, I got up at 6 30 am, left at 8 am…315 kilometres, 3 hours and 15 minutes later I arrived in the solely French town where Aren’s breeder lives.
When I arrived, I came with treats, a puppy Kong tug toy and a new pink/blue plaid collar and leash for Aren. I met the breeder at the door of her cottage and down came Aren. She was a little hesitant of me, of course, but I presented her with the toy I bought her and started to win her over…

After talking to the breeder as best we could (she knew some English, I knew some French) a friend arrived who was bilingual to meet me and help with translating and whatnot. Anyway, we took Aren outside to play…

We started to bond…

Ever watchful…

Being silly…

Oh, hai!

She LOVES snow – she played in a little patch that was left
After lots of running around and playing, we went to the porch to rest…

“What?”

I might be tired…

Yep, I’m tired.
We decided to go get some lunch and the breeder wanted me to bond with her some more, so we went in my car to A & W and got lunch, then to this little park-y thing overlooking the ocean.

We returned around 3 15 pm and I had to go…
We got in the house and Aren disappeared upstairs. The breeder said she was probably going to sleep, I agreed.
Then, suddenly Aren appeared down the stairs… carrying……… the Kong tug toy I had bought for her! It was like she was saying ‘Please don’t go!’ and she dropped it at my feet and so I played with her a bit…and then hugged her and kissed her and began the 3 hour, 300 kilometre journey back home.
