          I think you’re right.
When Spockie and I stayed at my parent’s house a couple of years ago, we all sat in the family room and watched reruns of West Wing from 7-8PM. After supper for all of us, including himself. Spockie would run around for a while, then lay down in front of the TV facing it and stretch out. Between 7:48 and 8:05 he would get up and hop back into his house. Daily. We tried to figure it out – the ending music? No, he went to bed even if we changed channels or didn’t watch that night. The daylight? No, he did it before and after daylight savings time.

I finally thought I heard him say “Hey Ma! See that huge clock on the wall right there? It’s bedtime!”

When Maryann was a lone bunny, she would always wake me at 7:15-7:20am every morning. I figured once daylight saving happened, she’d change her time. Nope, the next day, it wa again at 7:15-7:20am.
