You guys are probably tired of these stories, but humor me.  I got to pull a tiny baby from a shelter today!  I took two bunnies for spay/neuter at the Palo Alto Clinic this morning, and I got word this afternoon that there was a baby bunny there in need of rescue.  Since the clinic is right at the shelter, I went and picked her up after I picked up the two post-op bunnies.  She is a tiny thing, probably 4 or 5 weeks old, found as a stray.  She’s gray with a few white markings on her face.  Very afraid of people, poor thing was alone on the street I don’t blame her.  We have a litter of babies around the same age that are named after gemstones, so we are keeping up with the trend and naming her Beryl.  Here she is:

I had a lot of trouble getting her picture, she was very wiggly and I was in a hurry.  She does kind of look like a rat in that picture.  She’s actually quite cute, the picture does not do her justice.  She is not living with us, she has gone to a foster site that is already caring for a litter around the same age.  We don’t have any foster right now, maybe when the summer rolls around.

She looks like a Beryl to me. It fits.
I doubt anyone here doesn’t enjoy hearing lovely stories like this as often as they happen.
                      Especially with cute pix.

RANT: who on earth has a heart cold enough to pitch a baby, defenseless bunn out in the streets?! It seriously makes me want to bust some kneecaps!

Beryl – what a beutiful name! She is darling! Thank goodness she is now safe.

I agree, it takes a special kind of idiot to leave a cutie like that on the street. There must be a factory turning them out somewhere. >_<

The foster family picked a different name for her, so she is now Tashi.  Here is a much better picture of her:

Tashi? How cute! ^_^ Sounds like the little pink bunny, Atashi, from Chobits.

Very pretty coloring! I don’t know what it is about greyish/silvery rabbits, they are my favorites!
