  Hm…I remember something about pine, but I’m not sure…I just ran to check to see if the bedding was pine, and yes it is…..So much info to take in!! Plus its frustrating b/c the girl at the pet store told me what to buy!! i was actually thinking about not using any bedding at all anymore b/c Boston just shoves it all to one side and lays on the part that doesn’t have any.
  
  What are the dangers? What should I use? Is using nothing okay?

  What a cute bun! Only 300 pictures…bad bunny mom LOL. Pine chips have oils in them. A lot of us use a brand of pellets of compressed newspaper called yesterdays news, or a fluffy brand called care fresh. Some use hay or wood stove pellets (something like that) I use yesterdays news in the litter box, no bedding in the cage.
  
  Not surprised the pet shop person gave you the wrong info. Most pet shops really have no clue when it comes to rabbits.

  that’s for sure. i was given the same kind of wrong info on bunny care from a pet store and worse, a book i bought backed up the misinformation! no worries. you’ve come to the right spot for getting the right info… i’ve learned so so much since i’ve found this website. i switched to yesterdays news in a smallish litter pan (big enough for bun to sit / bunny loaf in) so that i don’t go thru heaps of litter pellets and it seems to work well.

  Can Pinky really get her big butt in that tiny litter box! Just kidding.!!! She is so funny that girl! What a pose. And Boston is a doll! I would not use anything on the floor of the cage. I just have the hay box, litter box and towels for sleeping. I just think that’s super messy and not at all needed.

  Boston is very cute! What a sweet little face. I also use Yesterday’s News. I keep my rabbits caged but only use the litter in the litter box. I’m very happy with it.

  In our house we just use newspaper in the bottom of their litter boxes and then cover that w/ hay. It helps to teach them to use their litter boxes. I never had to really potty train any of my buns, they taught themselves. Buns will poop in the back half of the litter box and eat the nice fresh hay thats in the front.
  If you dont use any type of bedding you will have to change the litter box out daily. I replace the newspaper and then try and salvage any of the clean lhay and add fresh hay.
  
  Bedding that is suitable for buns is Yesterdays News, Carefresh, wood stove pellets (these are pine but they are safe because of the process they go thru to be made). Wood stove pellets are very cheap but usually only available when its cold.

  Haha….my boyfriend gets so jealous b/c quote “you don’t take pictures or videos of me when i do cute things” … he makes this sad pouty face….very cute…..ALMOST as cute as a video i have of Boston cleaning her face Haha…ok i guess i see where hes coming from!

  yes- it’s really common to get bad info at the petstore, since most of them don’t know much about proper rabbit care. the fear is that the softwords like pine can lead to liver damage.
  
  the ones Beka recommended are all safe – and so are things like critter country, yesterday mews, aspen supreme or papur
