I was at the stable yesterday and took some pics of the little kids that were born on Tuesday. They are so cute. They are Nubian Goats. The mama, not surprisingly as she is pure evil, had to be separated from them because she was roughing them up. We have to feed them with baby bottles. They are such darlings.

Sorry the pics are so big, photobucket is not letting me resize for some reason.

Oh my gosh – they are adorable! Wonder why mom is so evil – I know nothing about goats but if I had some land I would love to have a few. I think those ears are quite impressive too.

The Mom is just a really messed up goat. She has no idea she is a goat and she is very pushy and tries to knock people over by head butting them (which really hurts!!!). This is my favorite breed of goat. They are from Egypt. I used to work at a stable where they bred these little buggers and there were new babies born every day in the Spring. They make the sweetest little noises.

You are really bringing back the memories now. We used to raise nubians as well as other types of goats.

How sweet! ^^ When we first moved to Alaska, we took on a set of baby goat brothers. There was a brownish one and a white one. The white one was Tippy and the brown one Choccie (short for Chocolate of course). The first thing Choccie did was to try and headbutt our german shepherd.
They were real cute until they started leaping up on the hood of my husband’s Blazer, pooping all over the porch and eating out of the chicken feed bucket at any opportunity. Tippy got it stuck on his head once and it totally covered his field of vision and Choccie had to come get me to show that his brother was in trouble. I swear! Choccie came to the back door and bleated his butt off until I came out there to see poor Tippy with the bucket over his head and wandering around the back yard like, “Hey! Who put out the lights??”

They were adorable, but we had no place to put them when winter came, so we had to give them to a neighbor. Our chickens too. It was kind of sad.

The only thing that creeps me out about goats is how their pupils dilate in the sun to those little coin slot type slits, you know? A cat’s pupils at least still make it look somewhat softened in appearance, but a goat’s look too much like a snake’s pupils to me. Weird! >_<
You can’t see that in these piccies though. Beautiful photography, LPT! And what adorable subjects! ^^

very pretty! my grandparents had goats, but it was way before i was born. there are all these pics of my mom and aunt standing next to goats like another family might have them standing next to the dog. lol…

my mom likes to tell a story about her driving the goats to the vet. they were in the back seat and she was at a stoplight. the guy in the next car looked over, then did a double, triple take before he realized they were goats and not dogs.

Awe they are so adorable!!!! It soudns like it was best to keep mum away. I hope the little darlings are nothing like her. I think that with the human attention and handling they will be very sweet tempered.
