Today, my hubby and I went to a place that sells only produce.  We are happy with it. I think we will buy Holly’s greens there from now on.

Anyway, as we were checking out, I mentioned that some of the stuff was for my bunny. The cashier said that she used to have a house bunny but got rid of it because she thought it was unhappy. She said it thumped loudly.  She was told that only unhappy bunnies do that.  I told her that my bunny thumps from time to time and that she is sometimes impatient with me for not doing something her way. She also said the bunny would nip her from time to time.  Holly nips me when she’s playing sometimes.  I’ll make a noise and she’ll lick me. I was sad when I left the store. I did tell her that I learned a lot on this web site. She also told me she fed her bunny a lot of spinach.  Because of what some of you told me about the high calcium, I was able to tell her that and give her a list of things that I feed holly that was ok.

It was especially sad because she adopted her bunny from the humane society.  If I had her mentality, I wouldn’t have Holly now.  I wish I would of met her before she got gave her bunny away.

I might not know everything, but I do know that I am learning from things that I have read and conversations through forums I”ve had with you all.  Thanks again.

it seems she started out really trying. she was giving veggies (not all people do) and she knew that thumps could signal displeasure. i wish she would’ve stuck it out… but hopefully that bun found “it’s” forever home.

That is sad. It really is amazing how much we all learn everyday. I just happened upon this site when looking for info. I think the majority of us are addicted to the computer so that helps! Those that are no so computer oriented will most likely not get as good information unless they happen on a good book. I wonder how she got “rid” of poor little bun?

That’s too bad – some people just think that everything should be easy and don’t really try to find the answers. Well, at least she did one right thing and adopted him from the humane society.

I hate when people get rid of a pet because of a tiny imperfection. If you think your bun is unhappy….hmm…maybe you should figure out what would make it happy? Not send it off to the unknown.

I am by no means passing judgement on anyone here, but really -I can’t see any situation which would make me give up any pet. I’ve heard all the excuses and even seen people give up pets as they moved somewhere that doesn’t take pets…how can you do that??? I just don’t get it.

i think i saw a commercial somewhere, maybe for donating to ASPCA, where they show a dog at a shelter and he’s waiting for his fmaily to come back and get him, but they moved. and he’s a dog, so there’s no way to tell him that so he’ll understand. they show him constantly looking up everytime someone walks by. it’s really sad.

                        I’ve seen that too Beka.
