So those of us who’ve had kids certainly know about the “but…but’s”. When you’re trying your hardest to tell them “no” about something and we get the “But Mom…” stuff.

Well I just ran into a different set of but but’s today. Hope the piccy gives you all a chuckle.

And then I got one of the front ends.

They look so happy together today. ^^

Such two lil darlings together ….

Now those butts are nicely groomed … Luey’s butt end is in need of a good groom … scruffy bum I call him!  Chunks of hair sticking out from nowhere.

i nearly spit my coffee out… that is a precious picture.  i should’ve guessed from the title.

so related to that… have they been inseparable since you’ve last posted about bonding them?  i know you were thinking about what kind of cage to get or build to accomodate them, what did you decide to do?  sorry if you already said, but i don’t remember how that one ended.

also, i wonder if there’s a spot BinkyBunny can put that picture (the first one) in the gallery, or as an additional photo on the page where she sells those tents.

Well I have to admit, this tent is getting a bit raggedy, so I’ll have to buy another soon. So they already had me sold. ^^

Beka, for now they seem to do well for a few hours in the day, then Mimz gets a little worn by dinnertime, so we still separate them at night. Pip is not shy about letting us know she doesn’t appreciate the separate bedrooms thing, overturning an entire FULL litterbox late last night and waking my daughter with the noise. It’s no fun cleaning up after bunny at two in the A.M. Pip’s litterbox javelin skills are increasing exponentially and I think there surely must be a gold medal in it for her if we can just get the Olympic Commission to see what worthy athletes our dear buns are.

Bunny Olympics…lolz…now wouldn’t that be a scream? I know there’s already jumping shows and the like, but could you just see the little dears in their jogging suits and gymnastic outfits, running the decathlon and vaulting horse?

And just now I had to put Mimz in the xpen again, as Pip was washing the Cuddl-e Cup…my guess is it carries his scent strongly, so she was looking for him. I think she’s a lot happier with him than he particularly is with her at the moment.

Both were washing each other last night though and snuggling in a most touching manner, so the time is not far off that they must bunk together.

I am still looking for a decent sized cage to house the two of them in. Our local store doesn’t carry anything suitable, so I may have to order online…but I’d really rather see something assembled in front of me before I buy it. *sigh*
I briefly placed Pip in with Mimzy in his cage last night, just to see what they would do. Lots of mounting attempts by him and Pip was just trying to sniff around as if to say, “Hey, this isn’t MY house!” I took her out again after a few minutes and they both settled down quite nicely. It’s not an experiment I plan to repeat, because I don’t want to derail the bonding process…but I just had to give it a shot. That cage is too small for them to both live comfortably in anyway.

Any suggestions as to where to look for the honeymoon suite are warmly welcomed! ^^ Also, I need to find one of those after market shelves/ramps for Pip’s pen as hers came without one and she seems to like Mimzy’s. Once again, our local pet store doesn’t carry helpful items like this.

Now the big question…in whose room are the two lovebirds going to live out their happy lives together? I can’t leave them in any main part of the house because I have cats. There is just no feline-proofing that will work with my two…they are stubbornly ingenious when it comes to getting at something they want.
It must also be set up so that my daughter can freely access her bunny and so I don’t have to give up Mimzy. So it’s looking like my bedroom is the only choice…but this is something we have to come to ourselves. My daughter is becoming more aware that the bunnies need to be together to be happy, so she’s not as reticent as she was before, but you can see she loves Pip and doesn’t like to feel as if she’s becoming “Mommy’s bunny,” which of course, she is not.
All these delicate feelings to juggle! *whew!* I am about worn out by now! >_<

have you ruled out the NIC condo? i’m not sure if you’ll find anything a suitable size that is available online without spending A LOT of money. i know there are the Leith Petwork cages, but they have a pretty hefty price tag. the nice thing about the custom NIC condos, as i’m sure you know, is that they can be adapted to fit any size space. if you need long and narrow, deep and tall, even L-shaped, you can do all of that. try drawing up some plans of how it might fit together once you decide on a location. i prefer community space, but i understand the cats might be an issue. each cube is 14 inches square… so a two deep condo would come out 28 inches, three deep, 42 inches, etc… you know if you have any questions about the actual building, you can ask.

I haven’t ruled out NIC’s altogether, but I am so lousy at building things…let’s face it, LEGOs were not tops on my Christmas list as a kid.
And actually, I was looking for them online tonight and I can’t find them. Is NIC an abbreviation for something?

lolz…love the idea of adding this piccy to the shop somehow. Anouncing BinkyBunny.com’s newest spokesbunnies! ^^ That way, Bailey and Jack can take some time off in the Bahamas!

that’s the cool habitats page, once there scroll down to stores where you can find them. beyond that there are links to instructions. they’re really not hard to put together at all. i think a lot of us are not building type people and if we can do it…

Thanks for the linkie Beka! ^^ Well, sonofagun! Wal*Mart! We just happen to have one of those here! Things are looking up!

I like those purple ones they show on the online page. (*thoughts wander off* Hmmm…. Just think of how well I could organize all my bunny plushies in a set of those! ^^ )

Now what about the paint on these things? Do they use stuff that is safe in case bunny decides to chew? I assume it must be.

EDIT: Oh of course, no stores within a 100 mile radius sell these things in my area. (grumble) Doesn’t that just figure? So, erm…how many sets of four do you think I’d need to build a bunny high rise for two buns? (I’m thinking at least two levels up and at least four cubes across the bottom and maybe two cubes deep? I suck at math, what would that come out to? *~* ) Urgh…wait a minute. I’m looking at about 24 cubes by my calculations sooo…4 into 24 6 times…carry the 2…hey….about $90.00? Geez, that’s not too bad.

You could also try looking for them on Craigslist. I got a set of 27 cubes for 10 and another set of 30 for 15!

Uh-oh….isn’t this the place everyone finds all those adorable adoptable bunnies?! @_@ (must resist urge to snatch them all up!)

I got 100 for $30 on craigslist. I have a stack of them left over if anyone wants some, lives near me and is willing to pick them up. I could probably leave them at save a bunny for a day or so if having a central spot would be easier.

I’d keep them but with the advent of the condo I made, space is starting to be at a premium.

Whoa, what constitutes a ‘stack’, Markus? 0.0 After buying 100, you must be buried in them!
Geez, I wish I lived near you, but I think I’m a bit out of your area code. ^^

craigslist is a great idea. i think the website is just craigslist.com and then you can enter your area so they only show ads near you. then do a search for NIC cubes.

instead of searching for NIC cubes I would search for “storage cube” or “wire cube” or “wire shelves” you might have to wade through a few extra postings that are like cube ottomans you can store things in but since NIC is a brand you will prolly find more cubes this way. Also the website is craigslist.org not craigslist.com.
