Seeing as I am new here and I love looking at everyone else’s bunny pictures, I thought I would post a few of my gang…

Binky is the white bunny – she only has one eye.  She is practicing her wrestling moves on her mate, Fluffy, the lop.

Ella is the little brown dwarf – she is missing one of her front legs.  Here she is snuggling with her mate Scooter Magoo.

And this is Boo, our hamster.

Binky was born with severe glaucoma and one of her eyes never developed properly. We got her from a shelter just after her eye was removed. She was a “foster” – HA! So much for that – that was 3 years ago!

Little Ella was surrendered to a shelter with a bandaged leg. Somehow, it was injured and her owners, instead of taking her to a vet, bandaged the leg themselves. They bandaged it so tight that it stopped the circulation to her leg and it mumified. Then they surrendered her. The vet couldn’t save it and amputated it instead. We “fostered” her after her surgery as well – once again, so much for fostering! We suck at fostering. Rabbits are like potato chips – you can’t have just one!

Ella is a very aggressive bunn because of her past (also becasue she is a netherland dwarf). I think it was very painful for her – I can’t imagine how long it takes for a leg to completely mumify – it certainly doesn’t happen overnight. So everytime a person would try to handle her, she would literally freak. We had to use oven mitts for the first few days when we got her. But she has come a long way. Even though she is still a monster on a good day, we love her just the way she is. She adores Scooter and loves him to bits!

I actually love the second pic. Scooter looks like he’s tryin’ to hide one of his front legs…

Scooter: “See, Ella! I only have one front foot too!”
                    Ella: “Whatever.”
Scooter: “Oh, yah, the rabbitude.” *looks disapproving* “Whatever.”

That’s the truth, I nearly got into it with a guy Sunday who came into pet info and complained that his ad was getting flagged. I looked at it, and he had a breeding farm and in big headlines was advertising rabbits for show, breeding, AND pets. He was saying Craigslist should ‘correct’ their categories because the USDA says rabbits are livestock, not pets.

He couldn’t, wouldn’t understand that he couldn’t sell them as PETS. Actually he was arguing in such circles and being so arrogantly condescending as an ‘expert’ you couldn’t follow his logic. Like he was arguing against himself….lol

I don’t go on there as much since I found BinkyBunny, but I do watch for new bun owners and send them the link.

What pretty rabbits – I’m so glad you kept the fosters, it sounds like they had a tough start.

Boo is a cutie too – love the raisin box picture.

                            Your buns are exquisite!

What a sad story about the bunny’s leg. Why don’t people think bunnies feel pain just like cats and dogs.

Your so sweet to take in all the buns especially those with difficult situations. I agree wholeheartedly about the “buns like potatochips”! I just adopted my 3rd! Well…if they weren’t so darn cute..I swear it’s all their fault!
