When I brought my bunny Bean home (who is no longer with me ) I was worried about him too because he was used to pine shavings and was nibbling at the Yesterdays news but he ate a couple of pieces and I would see he really didn’t like the taste because half of the crumbled stuff he would spit out and I never had a problem. I think as long as they have lots of other “good” stuff to eat he will be okay. Hay probably tastes much yummier!

I think you’ll be fine, especially if you place some hay on top of the litter (just a thin layer) as bunnies like to go potty and eat at the same time, plus it helps to keep their fur drier too from the wet litter until it gest absorbed.

rabbits chewing on bedding isn’t a problem.  aspen bedding is really good for buns.  it sounds like he is bored. what i woudl do is just stuff a bunch of hay in his cage.  he will nibble ont hat instead.   if you stuff it inside toilet paper cardboard roll, he will play with that quite a bit and will be less bored.

it should be fine, the makers of bunny litter know they will try to eat some so it should be fine!
