I returned home early this a.m. from a weekend away, the longest time I’ve been away from the bunnies. My roommate took care of them. When I got in, Beulah was clearly happy to see me, and Virgil, my extremely aloof bunny, exhibited some new behavior. He did a light diggy-diggy on my hand, and gave me a few really gentle nips. I thought maybe he wanted to get pet (he’s never asked for it before), and he did let me pet him for longer than usual, but he was tossing his head up as I did it. I’ve been waiting for any sign from him that he doesn’t despise me since I got them in late November; could this have been it? He’d never stuck around for more than a few seconds of me touching him.

i do believe you have been schooled by virgil… lol!   pinky digs & nips when she wants head pets so i can’t help but think thats what virgil was telling you.   not too sure about the tossing his head up while you’re petting him, but i’d fathom a guess that it was excitement
