My bunny is abit mad lol

He is mental about dog biscuits, obviously i take them off him everytime but after my dogs have eaten their dinner or if there just happens to be a biscuit which will be dropped on the floor or whatever anyway i discourage him from eating them but sometimes he manages to get a bite before i get there, are these going to do him any harm?

Also is the bog standard lettuce from shops, just your usually stuff has no name just ‘lettuce’ is it safe for buns?

        Thanks guys!

Any lettuce but ‘Iceberg’ is okey for buns. I can’t comment what the ‘regular’ stuff is.

As long as you don’t let the bun make a meal of the biscuits, you should be fine.

ack! it just ate my response

can you give their dogs their biscuits while out on a walk or some place where the bunny can’t get at them? Dog biscuits are much to high in fat and protein for rabbits and could cause some long term problems to his kidneys.

I’m not sure about bog standard – but you want to avoid a white kind of lettuce that we call iceberg here. If bog standard is dark green or red tipped, it’s likely a healthy bunny veggie choice.

I believe that she’s referring to the kibble.

People in the UK have wierd names for things.

well – I’d imagine the same information would apply to either, it seems like a very bad idea to me! I know we had a post about a bun eating doggie food a few months ago:

yeah kibble lol the stuff u mix in with the dog meat the dogs eat like.. well dogs lol and it goes everywhere i do shut the rabbit out of the kitchen when they are eating.. but he still manages to find one from somewhere i cant find lol he even ripped one of the dog bags apart to steal biscuits out but that was my fault i forgot to pick it up just wanted to be sure it wasnt going to be seriously bad for him otherwise i would have to start feeding them outside and i dont really want to have to in winter.
The lettuce is just ’round and tender simple lettuce’ its like a dark green grass colour and i can pick it up for like 30p a head which would really help me out compared with the £2 for a head of romaine, i know its not iceburg cuz we have that here to and it isnt the same as that.

Regarding lettuce, the one to avoid is the iceberg, which comes in heads like cabbage.  If it is a leafy lettuce that does not come in a round head, you are OK to use it.
