I wasn’t sure so I never let them have cooked vegies but I was wondering about that.

I would avoid feeding cooked vegetables to a rabbit. When vegetables are cooked a lot of the nutrients are lost so it really is best to stick with raw veggies for our spoiled rabbits.

I don’t think it would be good since it’s not natural for them to cooked veggies.

yes, I’d agree and skip the cooked veggies. once cooked most of the nutrients are gone.

cauliflower – I’ve seen mixed answers on it – some sites say not to feed it, but others say it’s ok in small amounts since it causes gas. To me, it’s not worth the potential risk.

Cauliflower I tend to say no on because of the high risk for gas and stomach upsets, just like broccoli.

Cauliflower not, but brocolli is ok … Luey has it all the time … no problems with him … he loves it.

I get really disapproving looks from my bunny’s when I cook vegetables. “Why would you do such a thing!” I can’t imagine buns liking cooked vegetables.

BTW – only a few nutrients are lost when vegetables are cooked. Unless, of course, you cook them till they are total mush.
Plus for all the human veggie eaters out there – if you have some veggies that are looking like they might not last much longer – if you blanch the vegetables it help preserve the vegetables and their nutrients for a few more days.
I actually studied this kind of thing in Cooking School.

Steph, there is a comprehensive list here of what rabbits can have: https://binkybunny.com/Default.aspx?tabid=144

Thank you Chef SageCat! That is great info on the veggies!

Sage Cat- you went to cooking school?  My hubby would be so jealous if he knew!   I dislike to cook- but I like to bake- and I also like to bake for the dogs and parrots. The cats are not impressed with anything made for them.

I need to print the Binky Bunny veggies ilst and take it with me when I grocery shop!  That would be so helpful!

KatnipCrzy – cats are not easy to impress, and dogs – well, they like road kill – they are great to cook for!

Yea, I went to cooking school. Right after I graduated, the school hired me as an instructor. I headed up the recreational classes, but got to teach the professional students too. It was an awesome job.

would a rabbit even be able to digest cooked veggies?  i’m guessing yes, but i’d worry about upsetting their system anyways.  pretty sure if Meadow encountered cooked veggies she’s just leave them alone.
