Ive noticed my little bunny pees on that paper stuff in the box, but poops all over the pen. I have been putting the droppings in the corner box so maybe he/she will figure it out. Is there something else I should do? Should I change the material or just give it some time? I actually put some alfalfa in there too to try to attract the bunbun. Sorry to be bombarding you guys with so many questions.

give it time.  you’re actually very lucky he is peeing in the box.  the poops are probably territorial, and some buns will always drop some poops.

Heathcliff does that all the time. My fiance and I will go out and get dinner, only to return to find the bed entirely covered in bunneh presents. He pees only in his litter box or his cage, but seems to poop everywhere. As I’ve had cats who pooed everywhere like that when they were angry, I’m just thankful it’s hard bunny pellets instead of 16 pound cat poos.

I’m sure it’s the marking thing. As soon as he is neutered it should die down. You’ve only had him a short time. We LOVE questions here so don’t feel bad about asking. It’s the people that don’t ask that we worry about. You are doing a great job! Good luck!

Hello Mattman! It seems like a good sign that your bunny already understands the concept of where to pee! I also had trouble first training my little ones with the poops – but as you consistently keep putting the poops in the box, you will start to see some improvement. As knowltons mentioned, the neutering also helps with this. It is good that you are being persistent with cleaning up the poops, that will really help him get the idea of where to go.

Heathcliff – HAHA way to put bunny poop in perspective! I didn’t realize cats retaliated like that when they got angry…my bunnies also pooped all over my bed the day that I decided to move their litterbox without permission
