So, as you all may know, I’ve been trying to adopt a girlfriend for Mr. Warren.  We seemed to have everything set – the okay from my landlord, the perfect lady for him, I had a second cage and everything.  I was so excited to be bringing home a new friend.

And then I find out I need the cats’ medical histories. Now these are my roommates’ cats, but since they live in my house, of course I put them down on the adoption form as additional animals. Also, since these are my roommates’ cats, I do not have their medical records. Nor did my roommates keep them after the cats got neutered/shots last year!

So, we’ve been trying to get copies of their vaccinations, but they took the cats to a mobile clinic that has a phone number (with voice mailbox that is nearly always full – no one answers the phone) and an email address. Supposedly my roommate has been trying to call and email them to get copies for the past 3-4 weeks, but we’ve gotten no answer. Today I got fed up, and emailed them myself.

However, if I can’t get in contact with them, what should I do? I feel like as this point, I’ll have to take Warren in to date the other bunny again, and the 3 trips we’ve already made ranged from semi-stressful to super-stressful. Also, the shelter will not let me adopt until I have proof of vaccinations for the cats, and it’s looking like I won’t be able to get copies of these records! I know the shelter is being responsible, and they only adopt out to good homes, but I’m just getting frustrated with the whole ordeal. Warren has a folder with his vet records and neuter certificate, just in case I ever need them. Why don’t other people do that for their pets?

o that would be frustrating.  vaccination records are pretty important tokeep track of.  personally, i wouldn’t remember what i did yesterday if i didn’t have a record of it and i wouldn’t want to be getting more or less vaccinations for my pets than needed.  for their health and for my pocketbook.  hang in there with contacting the mobile clinic!

Oh dear, that is stressful! A lot of people think well, I know it was done, I don’t need to keep any paperwork laying around… Pets are work people, take up the responsibility!
