DSCF0103_103_004.jpg picture by cutecottonbunwhen I am lying on the couch cotton comes up and digs n digs n digs on my shirt my stomache is red now. he will nibble in a row like he is grooming a bunny seems like sometimes he gos to grab my shirt and gets me. I say ouch he stops as if to say oh sorry and he continues even more gently. I got focused on the tv during all this and he stopped and looked at me til I once again focused my attention on him. now is that spoiled or what.  I was trying to read my book however with all this going on and holding his hiney for support so he doesn’t fall to the floor I can’t accomplish much til he gets tired. then he lies on the floor by me like he owns the place.   so far he and Itty Bitty dont’ seem to get along. he smelled her on me last nite and  was very upset. I have symetrical bite marks on my face on on the right from when we first brought her home and again from last nite when he  smelled her on my shirt and he got me unexpectedly but he is running out of steam cuz I stop him and say no. veyr firmly.    well in time it may get even better.   oh this behavior he has with me the gentle nibbles someone told me is courting behavior. I wouldn’t know.  I am trying to get a pic in here from photobucket may take me a while to figure it out. oh I think I got it.

DJ does this too.  I’ll be sitting on the floor with the buns and he’ll come up to me and start digging on my arm or my back (ouch!) I haven’t figured out yet if he’s demanding attention, or if I am in his way.

I have the same problem with Mimzy, when I remove him from his pen for his grooming and exercise, I usually hold him on my chest for a little while to help him relax. Prob is, once he relaxes, he starts the digging and biting. He put a good notch in my belly once and I turned him around and told him “No.” firmly and he scrunched up till he looked like a chinchilla and fixed me with those big brown eyes like I was the meanest bunny mommy in the world. So I had to laugh a bit and ruffle his fur to help him understand I wasn’t angry with him. Honestly, he a touchy little bun!
My bigger problem is the scratching. If he becomes nervous while I’m holding him (usually during the transfer between the xpen and his cage) he tends to struggle, and since I am afraid he will wind up hurting his back, I let him scratch the heck out of me until I can get him in the cage again. If I try to contain him, he only struggles harder and one time I almost lost him as he tried to do a header out of my arms. >_<

So the biting is courtship behavior? But my bun is neutered…why would he be doing this?

I luv that picture. Yes, pix of Itty Bitty Feda please.

Spockie would lick lick lick my feet, then set his teeth gently, I would yelp, and he’d immediately stop and lick again. He didn’t mean to hurt me.
