My sister is leaving for her trip to Sydney tonight and I am looking after her 6 year old Jack Russell X for 2 weeks.

Tara is an extremely active and high strung animal.  She is always very yappy and has a very high pitch bark (going to drive the neighbours nuts!).

I hope I am going to cope with Tara … she cannot come inside the house (my sister has her in of course) because of my pets, which my sister fully understands.

I have put up paper at the window so she cannot see Luey and the piggies … I was thinking of moving Luey into the laundry for the duration because I know Tara will be jumping up at the window (she does this at home) to get inside.

        Mmmm what do you think?

I will also have to engage in buying earmuffs and a few more bottles of wine to get me through the next few weeks! LOL.

        Dawn xx

that’s tough.  i’m not a fan of watching other people’s pets.  i know that sounds bad, but you get into a routine with your own and it feels like when you add another to the mix everything gets a little bit confused.  esp. if they’re not the best behaved animal and you have your own animals to worry about.

          Good Luck!

Here is an idea, how about a barking collar? I would definately keep that monster away from the rabbits. I really don’t care for small dogs and you have my sympathies ahead of time and the wine sounds wonderful.

i don’t really like small dogs either… if given the choice i’d pick a big dog everytime.  or a bunny.  or a big bunny!

                Thanks Ladies

I know I am not particularly overwhelmed by the idea of looking after Tara, but Gail did look after Luey and piggies when I was in Melbourne, so I must return the favour.

Barking collar … maybe I can hire one LOL.  I wonder where I could get one of those … maybe I’ll try the pet shop in the first instance and just see how much they cost.  Oohhhhhh ssshhhhhhhhh don’t tell my sister what I might be doing … LOL.

When I was staying with Gail, as my bedroom was at the rear of the house, Tara would be jumping up at my window all night long wining … drove me to drink!

Oh well, just see how it all goes!

                Dawn xx

My daughter loves her to bits … so maybe Pearl will keep Tara amused and out of my hair! LOL

I love russells, but with small animals cats and rabbit I have put that out of my head. We have several russell rescues and very few of them are able to coexist with cats, let alone piggies or buns.

You do have your work cut out for you. Good Luck!
