        Hey y’all,

Right now Kay & Winston’s pen is in the kitchen – cause I have always considered the kitchen the center of my home.

However, They are only about 4 or 5 feet from the stove.

And, I cook – A LOT!  Hey, it is what chefs do.

Yea, they DO NOT like it when I cook.

Cooked Vegetables are bad enough – such disapproving looks – “Why would you do such a thing?”    But meat – they just hide – the whole time I’m cooking. Especially if it is something that sizzles. Oh the dreaded sizzle!

It seems to me to be the sound – not the smell. Because once the sounds stop – they come out. Even thought the smell can linger for quite a while.

Therefore, I am thinking about moving them to the Dining Room. There is an open doorway between the 2 rooms. So, we can still see each other while I am in the kitchen. It is a brighter room. I think it is bigger – more play room. And we could still eat our meals together.

oh yea, dining room is a big rug on top of hard wood.

        What do y’all think?

how dare you cook things that sizzle!  offending their delicate sensibilities… the nerve!  lol!

i think that move sounds like a good idea.  if they can see you & hear you when they’re enclosed for the majority of your waking hours at home, then its a great setup.

I agree – move em!  There was a whole thread dedicated to cooking and smells and how some rabbits go crazy!  Sounds like an excellent idea.

The dining room sounds like an excellent compromise, you can enjoy your cooking and they can have more room to roam and a sunnier space, yet you all get to spend time together. : )

Okay thy are officially in the dining room!

I put them in their carrier while I made the switch.

Right now they are running around the dining room – to the kitchen – to the dining room – and back to the kitchen. They are checking out everything!

I even caught Winston in the bed room a while ago. Guess I need to start keeping doors closed!

Oh, that’s great. I think the dining room would be better. Actually we had discussion about this a while back. It seems that many bunnies freak out when cooking meat. Understandable. It may be the “sizzle” or it could be a smell that is terribly offensive to a “prey” animal. Maybe the scent ignites their fear instincts.
