A little nervous but mostly really happy about this-it’s not a minute too soon!! I know i might be partly Rupert’s fault and also her age (she’s seven months old) but she is pee marking eveything now even the carpet outside of the cage, humping everyone and being a nippy defiant little booger -altnerating with cuddly nice behavior. I can’t wait for it all to be over with! My critical care that I bought on ebay came in the mail yesterday so I’m all ready for this!

(And here’s a pic of her and Kokanee cuddlin in their condo!-hard to see, sorry!!)

aww… cute pic!  baby bun has returned to peeing everywhere since pinky came home.  i feel your pain.  altho at least – at 7 yrs old – her defiance has remained at a tapered state.  i’m hoping after pinky is spayed and they can start to hang out a bit it’ll all die down.

i’ll be watching tomorrow for updates.  pinky & baby are sending lots of smooth spay vibes your way (((((((((kahlua)))))))))

Thanks everyone!! We went this morning, and all three are at the vets for the whole day (they will be exhausted tonight because they usually sleep all day!! Rupert had an exam (that I got to see -I went into work late) and he’s going to have some x-rays done. Then the my vet is going to consult with a rabbit specialist she knows (who lives in another province) and an orthopedic surgeon to see what exactly we should do with his leg. Sooo soon we should have a gameplan for Rupert!!

We decided no antibiotics for Kokanee as they aren’t really great for bunnies and she’s doing much much better. I am going to have to find some kind of hay will eat, because she’s just not eating enough for everything to go back to normal. She wants her on timothy and says I should try looking around for better timothy; Also Kokanee gained a little of the weight she lost (she went from 1.7- to 1.4 kg when she was sick ) now she is 1.45 soo she’s on the up and up. YOu can see that she’s started to get better.

Kahlua is having her spay this afternoon so I’m nervously sitting by the phone… *sigh*

Kahlua’s spay is done! The vet phoned, she’s awake. Don’t know if she’s eating yet, I’ll be picking her up in two hours!

Excellent! I am glad everything is ok, Ebony didn’t eat until the after noon(op was 9am) and the first thing she ate was veggies that afternnon and then pellets the next morning, she didn’t eat hay until a day later.

yay Kahlua!  Do you have any fresh parsley available to you?  In the two post-spay cases that I did, that was the first real food they ate.

Also try kale and dill. Parsley is good because it is fragrant – pinch it too like MooBunnay suggested to make it more aromatic.

Hey Everyone! Thanks for all the vibes and thoughts

She is sooo alert today she took her cone off! I put it back on three times and she just takes it off. I am more concerned that the rodeo she pulls to get the cone off is more dangerous to her stitches then licking them. I’ve been keeping a close eye on her and she doesn’t seem at all interested in licking them soooo so far so good.

Shes eating and drinking great…Lots of poops, even going in the litter box! I removed the ramp to confine her to one floor (Kokanee can hop up to level two but Kahluas never been able or interested in acrobatics! She’s mostly sprawling out on a pillow. I am going to have her and Kokanee out in a bit to stretch their legs. She took her metacam like a champ!

One relieved mommy here!! I was super nervous!

K&K that is great news. I know what you mean about the rodeo. Even on one level Shadow was bouncing around like a lunatic. He was quieter and calmer when he had some free range, but I had to crawl under furniture to get him for his meds. Good for Kaluha for being so cooperative when it comes to that. ((((( yay Kaluha! )))))

Cones on dogs and cats are bad enough, can’t imagine one on a bunny. I ended up putting a t-shirt on one of my dogs (back leg out the sleeves and tail out the neck, to keep him from his stiches.

rodeo… oh dear i got a giggle reading that.  good call to keep the cone off in that case!  baby didn’t bother with her incision line from her lumpectomy at all except to clean the area (but she didn’t pay any more attention to it than anywhere else).

thank goodness she’s eating & drinking & pooping.  yay kahlua!  glad you’re feeling relieved

glad to hear she’s alert and sounds like she is on the mend. all the eating, pooping and drinking is a great sign, i think the metacam really helps with that.

And the incision looks fantastic!! I had such a hard time looking at it, I’m so squeamish and seeing her wittle skin with stitches….But a few looks and now I can look at it no problem. There’s nothing there!! No swelling, redness nothing. PHEW! It’s a struggle to keep the cage super clean but worth it!
