my sis bunny droppings arnt lill balls. they have turned into logs. and wet ones 2. we dont know what is going on. she is eating normaly, but my sisters bunny timothy hay holder is a ball hanging from the roof. i think she may not bother trying to get it, so she has a lack of timothy hay. we havent fed them human food, or veggies and fruits for a while. i dont know what it is.

oh my.  it’s very important that rabbits have a steady diet.  sudden changes can upset their system.  is it possible to remove the hay ball and put it on the ground level (preferably next to the litterbox) so the bun can nibble on it.  the hay is not gonna do any good if bunny isn’t eating it.  why are they not getting veggies now?  you were giving veggies but then you stopped?  i’m not sure about the poops, someone else will be able to answer that for you.  are they strung together in a little chain of poops, or are solid and cylindrical?

You have to take her to a vet if she isn’t eating. Period. There is no other option or magic cure.

Unfortunately it is true that the only option you’ve got is to get her to the vet. If there is an emergency vet nearby you need to get her to one. Rabbits can die within 24 hours if they are not eating which is why you need professional help.

The main reason I see that this would happen is because your sister did not give the bunny unlimited timothy hay like the rabbit needed – this is essential to a bunny’s diet and there is absolutely no reason I can see for the hay to be hanging somehwere where the bunny can’t get it. Just drop it on the floor of the cage for goodness sakes – why is it in the ball where the bunny can’t get it?

The reason that very strict diet guidelines are recommended is because not following them can make your bunny extremely sick, you reallly need to follow the recommended guidelines.

Well hopefully, you have been able to get your bunny to a vet by now. From the sounds of it, this was getting very serious! Hopefully you have a rabbit savvy vet nearby. Please let keep us updated!

First off- she needs medical care- so I hope she saw a vet.  It sounds as though she has abnormal poops for awhile- is you were feeding veggies and she was sick and then you stopped feeding veggies and she was still sick.

I would also strongly recommend not putting the 2 bunnies together if one is ill.  You have said that they are not a bonded pair- and keeping them in close proximity when one is ill is likely to be stressful and not at all helpful for the one that is ill.  Just because they were littermates at one time- does not mean that they will find each others company enjoyable or beneficial now.

Rather than move her and put her somewhere she is not likely to feel welcome- CLEAN HER CAGE- and move her cage if needed- or keep the room warmer.
