I just wanted to introduce you all to Benson. He was my second bunny and inspired me to really learn about bunnies and how to care for them properly! I had hime for 13 1/2 years and we had to have him put to sleep after he had a stroke just two weeks before we moved from England to America. We were going to leave him with my sister (who was his babysitter when we went on holiday) and I think he didn’t want to be left behind! He came from an accidental litter of babies that a friends bunny had and I hand reared him after mummy rejected the litter. He was only 1 of 2 babies that survived from a litter of 6. He was a very special bun and I thought he deserved to have his picture on the internet for all to admire! He was so handsome and such a fighter from begining to end! So here he is……

aww, what a handsome bun. He reminds me of my very first bunny, Droste. He must have been a very happy and well loved bunny to have been with you so long. I really do think they are always with us, even after they’ve crossed the rainbow bridge.

Now he is worth putting on the internet for all to see, I think he is adorable and was a very lucky bunny to have a great human mum that got him to that ripe old age.

He looks like he had a wonderful mum and a wonderful life.

I can just hear him say – “Here, kitty, kitty. Ha! Now I give you the stink eye!” – In a very dignified British accent, of course.

What a hansom Boy. Love the name Benson.

He was named Benson as`part of a pair, those of you brits out there will get this one, his brother was called Hedges. And for all of you non-brits… Benson & Hedges is a brand of cigarettes back home. What can I say I was a teenager and the name anoyed my mum!! But it seemed to suit him!

I love to hear how people’s buns get their names…. I’m sure there is another chat about that somewhere!

lol.  annoying mum is seemingly effortless when you’re a teen isn’t it?  thats a cigarette brand here in canada too.  funny, i didn’t associate benson with the cigarettes at all, but rather with a proper british butler.

Benson & Hedges WAS sold in the US back in the 70s. Benson & Hedges had a popular TV commercial where they spoofed the evening news by saying “Goodnight, Benson.” “Goodnight, Hedges.” (It was a take off on Huntley & Brinkley).

My grandmother and I (during one of her visits) said goodnight to each other that way for at least a week!

Wasn’t Benson the name of the butler in a governor’s mansion played by Robert Guillaume? A TV sitcom, right?

I don’t remember about that show, but when I first saw this picture I thought he looked like a butler
