I’ve noticed a lot of you mentioning that you bunnies sleep with/in the room with you. I’m jealous!
So now I’m on a mission. I figure the best idea is to try this slowly so I slept on the futon in the laundry/bunny play room last night….we’ll until 1:30am. After Anna had attacked my hair a few times then decided she was in the mood to make a lot of noise by digging in her plastic digging box I gave up, sent them to their room and went to my own.
I’m actually surprised that it was Anna that showed interest in hanging out on the futon with me, she’s normally the anti-social one. I think Stewart just went to bed in his cage as per usual and only showed back up again once Anna started making lots of noise.
Anyone have any tips for successful bunny sleepovers?
LOL mine don’t sleep in my room but if I’m tired and I want bunny attention I let them out and then nap on the floor. Kahlua actually came up and outright groomed me (for the first time ever) during one of these sessions….
They do like to jump on your head if your sleeping though ![]()
i love sleeping.
it’s one of my most favorite activities.
i don’t mix bunny and sleep.
she has her space for night-time.
i have mine.
i like it that way.

lol beka. i love sleeping too. it’s one of my fav hobbies ![]()
after baby’s surgery & when she got so much more adventureous, suddenly one night i awoke to a bun on my face. she had always had free-roam but never took advantage until then. at first i thought it was incredibly cute, but then the pee war started & well… there’s only so much pee-pee laundry i want to do in a week ya know? so now she’s ‘enclosed’ overnight. the dog & i get much more sleep this way!
I have a pair of bunnies that sleep in my room – it does take a certain type of bunny to be able to sleep in your room for a few different reasons. 1, they must adapt to your schedule and not dig and run all night (I also run a fan near my head for white noise – but it had to be a fan with a small grid so the buns couldn’t hurt themselves on it. 2, the bunnies must be quite non-destructive – a lot of things that people don’t want munched, such as cell phone cords, computer cords, alarm clock cords etc. are located in the bedroom. 3, they must be able to tell that YOUR bed is YOUR bed or else you will come home to a bed that is thoroughly marked with poop and pee (mine decided to mark my bed, so I covered it with a shower curtain for two days and did not allow them on it, after two days they were reminded that it is MINE, and they no longer “mark” it.)
I really love having them in my room, at night they like to sleep on my feet
I had to get used to them walking on me, but other than that its fun! I’ve only had one scary moment which is that about 3 am Nilla Bean didn’t use her bunny stairs and LEPT onto the bed, and landed right on my face, hahaha
I tried it a time or two and it was cool until 4am when the happy dance started on my chest. The real deal breaker for me was to wake up and realize Pringles was chewing on my hair. I could just imaging waking up and finding a custom crop !
well bunny sleepovers hmmm. cotton can not resist running all over me. then later after I fall asleep around 2 am he decides to do my hair. and do my hair and do my hair. I finally throw a pillow over my hair then he decided to pee on the bed. that ended that. now i sleep good
once I fell asleep on the couch cotton couldnt’ resist. he jumped right on my chest. as I let out a scream talk about wake up call and my son was sleepin no the couch i let cotton out and he jumped right onto the couch in ffront of my sons face. scared them both
I could not imagine having Luey sleeping in my room … Gosh forbid … the room would be a shambles in the morning!
At times when I have trouble sleeping I’ll get up and go out in the loungeroom and snuggle up in the beanbag. Luey who is penned during the night will come and sit near me as close as he can to his pen and the beanbag. I have woken up and he is still sitting there looking at me …. Mmmm I wonder what he is thinking!
Dawn xx
alright I’m giving it another try tonight, we’ll see if it’s any better (I’m doubting it though -I’m thinking my hair is just too tempting)
But I think they are enjoying me being in the bunny room with them late in the evening. I moved the tv in the other room so I can see from here and they sem to be quite entertained running circles around me at top speed!
who knows though – maybe I’ll be as lucky as you moobunnay!
I think this is one bunny experience I’ll skip. I have lounged with her in her play area. That is always fun. She usually jumps on my back and does my hair. I have never noticed her eating it, but I wouldn’t put it past her.

I tried it a time or two and it was cool until 4am when the happy dance started on my chest.
OMG, I just flashed back to “It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown!” at the end where Snoopy is dancing to that cute little classical flute number and throwing the painted eggs that Lucy hid from his little basket! ROFL! Oh gosh, I’m laughing so hard I can’t breathe!
I keep my bun in my room with me (since it started getting too cold to have him outdoors) and I love it! He has his enclosed pen and it’s on top of my dresser, so he can see me. Unfortunately, I have WAY too much stuff throughout my hosue to allow him the run of it, but he seems perfectly content in his habitat or his exercise pen. He doesn’t crawl on me much during ‘out’ time, but when he was outdoors he used to nose me on the derriere while I was squatting on my heels in the grass. Usually if he wanted a bit of extra cover, that’s where he would eat too, underneath my bum! One gets VERY disconcerted when all of a sudden there are munching sounds coming from that area! 0.o
He is VERY interested in my bed covers, but I am not brave enough to let him investigate them for long…he has a terrible gnawing habit. And I don’t want to know what else!
My daughter’s bun will climb all over me when she’s out for exercise. And since she rooms with her, there is very little sleep for either of them. (Both are night owls.) Pip is much more suited to people than Mimzy is, however, Mimzy is the quiet one at night.
I (Scooter) will occasionally sleep on the couch in the living room, usually when I’m having problems falling asleep. The couch is right next to the bunny enclosure. There are pluses and minuses to sleeping there. Advantages: it’s nice to be near the bunnies, and they will lick fingers that fall close enough to the enclosure bars.
Disadvantages: bunnies chasing each other in the enclosure, drinking out of the water bottle is LOUD, and being forced to get up at the crack of dawn because that’s when the bunnies wake up.
I’ve never done this intentionally, but there are times I just can’t catch Nel and get her back in her house before I’m too tired to go on, so I just turn in while she’s in the bedroom. Eventually she gets hungry and comes to let me know she wants to go back. The cords are rabbit proofed, and the carpet…well I’m planning to tear out the carpet and get hardwood flooring anyway. Much easier to clean, and better for allergy sufferers.
There was one night she refused to go back though (guess she had stashed some snacks) and didn’t decide to go back until the next day.
