Kaye & Winston arrived to live with me and my husband yesterday afternoon. Needles to say I got nothing done for the rest of the day.

The buns have staked out their favorite spots in thier pen – Winston hiding in one of two boxes and Kaye under the shelf between the 2 boxes. Every once in a while J. or I walk through the kitchen and see that they have ventured out – but, then the kids run and hide.

Last night we all had dinner together. It was very entertaining to see them poke their heads out, grab a piece of something, dart back to their spot and then thump loudly while munching! Kaye discovered a ball she could toss easily – it landed in the middle of their dinner. No biggie – they ate around it. They also cleaned the plate!

Last night they happily took Papaya tabs from J’s hand.  This morning they were not so interested in taking the papaya from me but, ate it as soon as I set it down. J said it is proof they like him better. Whatever!

We could hear them for a few minutes during the night checking things out. They have a night light since this is a new place for them. Mostly they were very quiet.

How can so much poop come out of such little creatures! Last night when Jeremy & I went to bed, there was none. This morning – I think they were saving it up or something. Oh, my.

Over all I think we are off to a good start.

I agree, you are off to a good start. LOL about the poop, we had asked the same question about our first bun. But just keep in mind, that its a good thing.

As soon as things are settled…PICTURES PLEASE!

They sure do poop a lot, I find it quit funny when you find them in the most unusual places.

Awe congrats! It can take a little while before they adjust and yes they can be quite the pooping machine! Do you have any pictures?

I don’t have photos to share yet – I am having a issue getting them from the card onto my computer.  Maybe later today.

Last night (their second night) durring dinner Kay threw a different toy in the middle of thier salad. Do you think that is like when a kid liks all of the ice cream?

This morning J and I sat on the floor and had coffee while Kaye & Winston would come out a foot or 2 – then they would run back and hide – Then they would come out a few more feet. It was really funy to watch. I’m not yet use to this “cautious curiosity”.

We also had a very nice “clean the Rabbitat” session. Kaye & Winston seemed to think it was a game. They were excelent supervisors. I did have to add a third litter box after discovering a spot they were using. But they instantly used that litterbox – I think that is good.

BTW – I think Winston would not take the papaya from me yesterday because I had been handeling and cooking meat. What do you think?

Binkies? OMGosh that’s WONDERFUL!!! My two did the same cautious curiosity as well when I fisrt got them. Bonsai had fun hopping in and out of the door of their condo. He was fascinated that he could go in and out as he pleased. That’s great you’re spending time on the floor with them, that’ll help them adjust and become snugglebums with you during movie time. : ) I am so happy for you, you’ve got a wonderful pair!

What a great beginning and I definitely agree that it must have been the meat smell, my bunnies absolutely hate that smell on my hands, and if they ever smell it on me, I get a THUMP..THUMP….THUMP – and if I dare bring my hand near their noses, then they sniff and run away flicking their feet behind them to show intense disapproval. It sounds like you’ve got a couple of buns with fun personalities, thats great, the longer you have them the more you will learn about them.

I’d take the poops as a compliment, it means that they want to mark the whole area as their own Hopefully that will subside soon!

Sounds like things are coming along well.

When I got Maryann, she didn’t poop for the first day and a half due to having settling in issues. I was worried and planned on taking her to the vet the next day but that evening, I found a pile in her box that was at least a third the size of her.

Oh yes, the meat thing, my two don’t like it either.
