I was wondering if anyone here had the answer to this one? (I’m just a little too tired this p.m. to go searching all over the net and would rather hear from actually bunny moms & dads anyway.)

Do we know for sure, or even just a guess, at whether bunnies see colors in their enviornments? I was thinking of using the ‘stunt double’ technique to bond Mimzy and Pip and I’m wondering if it will help either bunny to bunk with a soft toy that resembles the other bun both in size and color, in addition to the tuft of fur added for scent.

So it’s kind of two questions in one. What do you all think? Do buns see colors and would a color coordinated stunt bunny help them bond better?

Yes bunnies do see colors.  I was told and do believe that greens and blues are easier for them to see.  My two find food dishes better when they are this color.  I *beleive* this is the case because they can see the nature around them that is not a predator and the things that are, are in shades of grey, if that makes sense.

I also wanted to add that Binky Bunny is a great source because we have had the dicussions and you don’t have to go hunting around the net either and you get to hear from fellow bunny parents- check out our FAQ section:

Thanks for the linkies, Scarlet! ^^ Yes, I think I am quite settled in here, there is a plethora of information and the company is most definitely enjoyable!
Interesting about the ‘night vision’ thread. So bunnies make a mental map…it almost sounds like the dances bees do to communicate pollen positions.

I just rearranged Mimzy’s habitat to give him a bit of a change up in his living quarters. Hmmm. Maybe I should put it back the way it was. I don’t want him running into a wall thinking it’s the bathroom! 0.o

Blues and greens, hm? ^^ I just happen to LOVE those colors!

I’m am so glad you are settled in here, we love having you around! : ) I think Mimzy will be OK with rearranging things, most bunnies like to explore and it gives them some stimulation too. But definately keep the potty box in the same spot, bunnies are creatures of habit with respect to that.

My Bum LOVES his pink! I had to throw away his (& MINE) favourite pink pj bottoms, I was not happy. I was SO happy weeks later (sad fool!! lol) when I saw some bubblegum & fuschia pink polka dot pj bottoms screaming out at me from the aisles of Asda!!!
