I gave my buns 1 piece of orange and I am noticing fur in their poo some like string of pearls with 3 poo could this be cuz the orange slice helps them out with this? i hear pineapple and papaya helps with the fur passing but oranges? hmm maybe I discovered something that works for my buns

I have petromalt too and they are not shedding right now.

they are getting less pellets now and more hay and some greens too every nite

Generally bunnies will have poops like this when they have a lot of fur in their stomach. This can be dangerous as the fur could create a blockage in their system. Something you should do to prevent them swallowing too much fur is groom them regularly. Try to give them a good brushing or grooming everyday so that they don’t end up with a lot of extra hair in their stomach.

I have not heard of oarnge helping the fur passing, so I wouldn’t recommend relying on that to take care of the issue, and I would instead focus on brushing to make sure that not too much fur gets in their stomachs. It wouldn’t hurt, however to supplement their diet with a few things that are considered helpful in passing fur, like the papaya that you mentioned.

            Hi,

I have never heard of oranges either, i would be carefull not to give too much contains alot of sugar.

The best thing to help with shedding is to comb them as much as you can. When my bunny sheds i comb him everday day before he goes to sleep at night until the shedding gets lighter. A great comb to use that takes out alot of fur and quickly that wont harm them either is Zoom Groom.

As well, to get fur out of their system i would suggest offering more hay or encourage them to eat more, helps to pass out fur. I sometimes give my bunny freshly squeezed pineapple juice out of the pineapple and a piece of papaya. But, the best thing for them is the hay.
