so we (me and my sis)  made new houses for our rabbits, and let them sit in them for about a week befor we let them visit eachothers house. they use to have their own, then they shared one for about 5 months, then we made these ones. so after about a week, my sis put her rabbit in my cage, and my rabbit thumped her foot, and went up to my sis bunny. then my sis bunny sorta attacked mine, and they were staying really still after with eachothers faces side by side as if they were gonna attack again. its the first time they have ever done that. they are sisters, and im thinking its because of the new houses. do you think we have to do the whole introducing our bunnies togeather thing over again?

Well, I see a few big problems off the bat…
          (1) Are they both spayed? If not, then the fighting is definitely because they are both unspayed and being hormonal…I would not advise putting them near each other again until they are both spayed…
          (2) Putting a bun in another bun’s cage is a big nono too… they are SO fiercely territorial, especially when unspayed…I am certain that is why they are attacking – because you placed a bun in someone else’s turf and expected it to go well.

Even if they are sisters, they don’t remember or care…
I would not advise putting them together or near each other until they are both spayed and you can safely try to bond them in neutral territory.

I ditto what Lion_Lop said. It sounds like a combination of all the things listed. You need to be very careful with visits and not to place another bunny in the others cage as fighting happens and you are not able to separate them. It sounds like you are not planning to keep the rabbits together and just wish them to be friends when they come over? Do the rabbits live in the same house? It will be more difficult for them to get along if you do not bond them and keep them together (if it works), I would say that spaying them is a must as well to help with the process. Otherwise if you wish to keep them in separate houses, please do not put them together as they will not get along so well and fights can cause bad injuries.

generally if they’re not gonna be kept together permanenetly, you may not want to try and and do visits.  rabbits don’t really do the occasional friend thing.  either they’re bonded or they’re not.  if you are going to introduce them so they can live together from now on, you’ll want to start introducing in a neutral space.  not in either of their cages or rooms.  do you have a big open area for them to play in where they can get away from each other if they wanted?

yes, I agree with Beka, that unless you’re bonding them to live together it’s better not to try and introduce them. Rabbits don’t have play dates – they are very territorial and it pretty much goes against their nature to just casually visit with another rabbit
