I am trying to bond Sophie and Simon.  Sophie is not spayed yet, her surgery is scheduled for Feb. 13.  The problem is Sophie tries to hump Simon and Simon is not having it.  He whips around and nips at Sophie, Sophie takes off running, Simon chases, I clap my hands, and they stop.  Question is, should I proceed with the bonding or stop and wait until after Sophie’s surgery?

after the surgery they’re going to need to be separated for healing time anyways, so i would just wait, it’s not that long off. since he’s already neutered, you could probably start introducing them the first or second week of March.  i think doing so before the surgery and having fights may make it more difficult to bond them afterwards.

Yup, I second the waiting…It won’t be too long now!

I’d also urge you to wait until after Sophie is spayed too, it will go much easier.
